Gillislie Out?

You guys are getting a taste of frustration we have endured for years now. It sucks!

I agree - I never root for player injuries but maybe some of the wealth will spread to our competition for once.

Like us, Florida and Arky have been hit hard lately

I want florida to be at full strength come saturday....no excuses...lay it all on the line #leggoo

Why? They certainly didn't lessen the value of their win against us last year when JH went down.

I know what you mean, but I'm just saying...payback is he||.

True, and I have no sympathy for them. Welcome to the club, chumps

I don't care if they send their JV team and we win by 1 pt based on total luck. We just need a "W" in this game sooo badly!!

They do have Fr. RB 6'3" 225 lb. 4 star Matt Jones. Hopefully he won't bust out against us....but then again DMac knows how to layout Fr. RBs ...Hello Mr. Borque?

I hope they do start Gillislee and he's completely gimpy throughout the whole game.

I haven't read through this entire thread so siap but did Gillislie get more carries after he hurt the groin on the td? If so, how many and was he effective.

From UF's rivals site...

Gillislee practicing: The most important injury question for Florida this weekend comes regarding a player who Muschamp has said will play against Tennessee.

Running back Mike Gillislee has a lingering groin injury but practiced Monday in what Pease said was a light "jog-through" to review the installations the Gators are making for their showdown with the Volunteers. Pease said Gillislee would do "what he can" in practice Tuesday but that he is at a point where his reps in practice are not all that important.

"In any situation, whether he's a little sore or not, he understands his reps now as far as practice goes," Pease said. "So he doesn't need as many. That's where you try to get the other kids (involved) and build up their repetition base because he's taking so many and he gets such live situations in the game he doesn't need to continually take those."

Their philosophy about practice reps seems almost the opposite from Dooley's. DD was talking about Lathers today and basically said he needs to practice if he's gonna play. He said you can't play well if you don't practice well.

Exactly. I'm starting to really think Gillislee won't play and if he does he won't last very long before the injury is reaggravated.

Matt Milllen and Herbstreit on CFB live today were talking about how hard is would be to recover and be 100% this quickly with a groin injury. Herbstreit went on to say that if Gillislee doesn't play UF won't be able to sustain drives and are in big trouble vs. UT.

Their in big trouble regardless! :) Did he play at all after the injury?

Yeah, he played in the second half. Ran a couple of times. While he still looked about the same, you could tell he was favoring his happy place. Looked the same, but didn’t look the same, if you can somehow visualize what I’m saying.

Ha yea I got ya. Thanks.

Merge if necessary.

Didn't see it posted, but Herbstreit just said on ESPN that Gilislie may not play on Sat. HUGE if true. Anyone heard anything?

If he does play I really doubt he will be as effective as he has been, or he has done one hell of an acting job.

There has been allot of he said...Evil Eyes said......Hurby said Gillislee didnt practice monday...EEYes said he did...so go figure....Groins dont re-cover in less than a week...I bet we will be pulling him all over the field..knowing of his injury...they have UK the following week he may try to play and sit out week of UK...but sure GAMETIME descision..

Did bourque ever enroll anywhere else or did he just fall off of the edge of the earth?

Would it be nice to beat UF at 100%? Sure it would. But, you go to war with the army you have, not the one you want.
A win over UF at 75% is still a win over UF. Who cares.

Besides, they have beaten up on us the last few years when we have been far from 100%
Its time to return the favor.

As much as I was hoping for 2 fairly healthy teams for game day it will not detract from the W if some of their key players are not. When the roles have been reversed it didn't once put an asterisk or any other footnote next to our loses all those years. I will say this though, being giddy about opposing player injuries IMO is just bad karma.

I'd say apples and oranges comparison. If bray as an example had a banged up hand I highly doubt he practices much but would still play for FL. Maggit and Lathers are still learning our D so I imagine them not practicing the looks for FL would leave them well behind.

Agree 100% :hi:

It's his hamstring, not his back.

Really hamstring... did you watch the game last week? What was he holding when he scored the TD? Just saying to me it looked like a groin injury...

I had a few injuries playing ball as a running back and I can say turf toe and groin injuries suck. Turf toe I could some what play... groin...forget about it.

My daughter does competitive cheer and injured her hamstring the last competition of the year and spent the whole off season doing rehab... Any injury at this level of football is not good...
