My daughter does competitive cheer and injured her hamstring the last competition of the year and spent the whole off season doing rehab... Any injury at this level of football is not good...
It is not good but some injuries you can still somewhat perform... When I saw Gillespie react on his score I could relate to the pain. It takes several weeks to be able to make power cuts. A hammy injury or quad also suck and take a good while to heal.(I pulled a hammy in track and it took a good year before it felt fine) The thing about a groin injury is you feel good running a straight line. When you make a hard cut... you feel pain/burning so bad in areas as a male you do not want to feel.
I just wanted to give my overview of the injury. If he has a groin injury it is not something you get better in a week. It is a long term thing that effects your ability to make an explosive cut.
