Gillislee practicing: The most important injury question for Florida this weekend comes regarding a player who Muschamp has said will play against Tennessee.
Running back Mike Gillislee has a lingering groin injury but practiced Monday in what Pease said was a light "jog-through" to review the installations the Gators are making for their showdown with the Volunteers. Pease said Gillislee would do "what he can" in practice Tuesday but that he is at a point where his reps in practice are not all that important.
"In any situation, whether he's a little sore or not, he understands his reps now as far as practice goes," Pease said. "So he doesn't need as many. That's where you try to get the other kids (involved) and build up their repetition base because he's taking so many and he gets such live situations in the game he doesn't need to continually take those."
Their philosophy about practice reps seems almost the opposite from Dooley's. DD was talking about Lathers today and basically said he needs to practice if he's gonna play. He said you can't play well if you don't practice well.
Exactly. I'm starting to really think Gillislee won't play and if he does he won't last very long before the injury is reaggravated.
Matt Milllen and Herbstreit on CFB live today were talking about how hard is would be to recover and be 100% this quickly with a groin injury. Herbstreit went on to say that if Gillislee doesn't play UF won't be able to sustain drives and are in big trouble vs. UT.
Would it be nice to beat UF at 100%? Sure it would. But, you go to war with the army you have, not the one you want.
A win over UF at 75% is still a win over UF. Who cares.
Besides, they have beaten up on us the last few years when we have been far from 100%
Its time to return the favor.

As much as I was hoping for 2 fairly healthy teams for game day it will not detract from the W if some of their key players are not. When the roles have been reversed it didn't once put an asterisk or any other footnote next to our loses all those years. I will say this though, being giddy about opposing player injuries IMO is just bad karma.
It's his hamstring, not his back.
