Gerrymandering in Virginia

You your usually spun up self this morning? I haven’t said anything with regards to voting.
fair enough, but that is what spun this whole conversation.

some people want to tie rights, beyond owning property, to owning land.

I don't get why he's having a hard time understanding this simple concept.
because you aren't holding a consistent argument across the board, and you have been up and down on if restrictions actually exist. I have already quoted you posting conflicting statements, and you played it off like it was nothing.

consistently pick a lane and there wouldn't be confusion on your part.

The voters decided in Virginia. In TN, they stripped the power from the people. They are not similar situations and the fact that you don’t recognize the difference is very telling. Clearly, you prefer to be led around on a leash like a good little MAGA bitch.
Do you have a list of items that should be decided by referendum rather than by the legislative process, or is redistricting the only one?

So "activist judges" are good now?
It wasn't activist judges, it was the activist Virginia Constitution.

They voted to violate the state Constitution.

The state constitution is pretty self-explanatory on this issue...

"Activists" don't follow the laws in place, Constitutionalists do....hope that helps

Looks like this whole attempt has severely backfired for the CIA chick and her many tax lovers
3/7 justices didn't agree, but I'm sure you'd have had the same opinion if a 4th hadn't since if anything, you're consistent in being non-partisan when it comes to judicial rulings that don't favor republicans.

Yeah what a bunch of 🐂 💩. All those bogus mail in ballots have been disenfranchised. What is this country coming too? I mean democrats can't even rig an election anymore. Democracy is in peril.

I’ve been completely consistent, you are being intentionally obtuse or just can’t understand.

I heard Hakeem Jeffries is proposing a referendum that calls for the public execution of Trump.

Ignored the other instances I produced?

Also they failed to follow many procedures, at best unethical but what should we expect from politicians looking out for their party. I don't think it's much different than you want to believe it is.

On May 8, 2026, the Virginia Supreme Court struck down new congressional maps that would have favored Democrats, ruling 4-3 that the legislature failed to follow proper constitutional procedures in passing the redistricting amendment. The court found that procedural violations "incurably taint[ed]" the referendum, invalidating voter-approved maps.

Key Reasons for the Ruling:
  • Procedural Violations: The court ruled that lawmakers did not adhere to the Virginia Constitution regarding the amendment process.

  • Timing of Votes: Arguments accepted by the court suggested the initial legislative vote on the amendment did not occur in a valid session, and that lawmakers failed to pass it in time to meet legal notification requirements (specifically, a 1902 law requiring notice 90 days before an election).

  • "Intervening Election" Clause: The court found the amendment process failed to properly abide by mandatory, mandated pauses between legislative votes on constitutional changes
It's also fun when the ideological fluffers like yourself assume anyone who's critical of the left or right must be your ideological counterpart. And here you accusing others of being an ideological bitch? The irony!

Think of it like football where a touchdown gets called for illegal procedure. Yeah, great looking play; but you broke the rules to get it.
The voters „scored“ for the dems but they never would have gotten open if it the legislature didn’t have illegal motion in the backfield prior to the snap.

VA and TN are grotesque maps.

Again, how is the Northeast bad? Vermont has 1 red county in the entire state. Mass and Rhode Island have 0. CT has 2. Unless there's some absolute crazy boundaries, these states should be 0 Rs (absent a horrible D nominee).

NH and ME should have competitive races but even at best, those are lean D...
Just like with Republican gerrymandered districts those states have done the same in the Northeast to prohibit Republican delegates.

As others have stated the country is healthier when the margins are closer at the local, state and national level.

I'm not a fan of what Tennessee has done. But I find it difficult to get my give a damn meter working when it's just the status quo of politics.
