Good points that i hadnt considered. Guess we will never really know and will only get rumors down the line unless somebody does a tell all someday. Regardless, i think we can still crush this hire. Freeze may be our OC version of Gruden, had the most sparkle but wasnt the truly best fit or option. Time will tell. What about the possibility that no SEC team wanted to "snatch him up?" What about the possibility that Liberty was as good as he could get? We don't really know do we?
I totally agree, " I don't see it as a failure by UT," but I sincerely doubt he was "blackballed" they way you suggest. I think he just wasn't all that and no established Power 5 school wanted him. His appearance and Liberty's appearance were made for each other. Good luck to them both.
Per press conference, he interviewed at 3 schools for OC. Think liberty was better for him with his image to be HC at a big school againGood points that i hadnt considered. That is far from the truth. Christianity is founded on forgiveness. Granted, many people who claim to be Christian don’t act anywhere this way, but the true Way of Christ is filled with forgiveness, compassion, and love. It’s time to stop going out and find all the bad apples and claim that all Christians act this way. It’s simply not true. Liberty is practicing forgiveness and reconciliation towards Freeze. Now we wait and see what he does with it.That's how religion works in TN/everywhere else . Preach about how you're going to hell for drinking and gambling, but then stop at the gas station to buy a Powerball ticket and 6-pack of Bud Light on the way home from "church." But during that hour of preaching you feel enlightened and going to change your ways tomorrow.
You got it ass backwards dude. Forgiveness and redemption are two tenets of Christianity. You see it as hypocrisy, when in all actuality, it lines up perfectly with what the church/religion preaches.
Not true. Finebaum asked how did you end up there and not TN, AU, etc. He said you would have to ask them I'm sure they were still worried about hiring me and rightfully so.Truth be told Freeze didn't want a OC job. He has been a fairly successful head coach and probably didn't want to be an assistant anything! I thought he would only take an OC job if that was all he was offered.
Good try KB.
If you believe that a man in the sky made everything that exists, including you. Sent his only son to die a painful death and has a vested interest in you. You have the ability to talk to him daily and sing songs of gratitude to him, even thank him for your fried chicken on sundays while holding hands....yet you can't love your wife and your god enough to not break one of his 10 commandments. It's not hypocrisy, it's mental illness.
Try testing gravity like you test god. See which foundational belief is stronger.
Er, umm, take it to the Politics forum?Misconception, actually. The commandments were given not as a means to achieve righteousness, but as proof that we can't. Flesh is weak and there has only once walked a sinless man on Earth. Once we accept that we cannot save ourselves, it opens the mind and heart to accepting God's substitutionary gift of justification through the blood of Christ. We don't "deserve" or "earn" anything. That's the meaning of Grace.
Not to get sidetracked, just clarifying!

Was a great interview.
