Freeze to become HC at Liberty

Copy paste from a Wolken Tweet:

Hugh Freeze, on running a faith-based program and his belief in Jesus: “He’s the only one I’ve ever met who can handle my junk."

What an awesome trolling statement. Make Kiffin look like a toddler in his troll game.

Has to be a smokescreen right?

Truth be told Freeze didn't want a OC job. He has been a fairly successful head coach and probably didn't want to be an assistant anything! I thought he would only take an OC job if that was all he was offered.

What about the possibility that no SEC team wanted to "snatch him up?" What about the possibility that Liberty was as good as he could get? We don't really know do we?

I totally agree, " I don't see it as a failure by UT," but I sincerely doubt he was "blackballed" they way you suggest. I think he just wasn't all that and no established Power 5 school wanted him. His appearance and Liberty's appearance were made for each other. Good luck to them both.
Good points that i hadnt considered. Guess we will never really know and will only get rumors down the line unless somebody does a tell all someday. Regardless, i think we can still crush this hire. Freeze may be our OC version of Gruden, had the most sparkle but wasnt the truly best fit or option. Time will tell.

One thing for sure.....if/when Freeze comes back onto the SEC market after a successful stint at Liberty, no way we will shell out the shekels for him then.

Per press conference, he interviewed at 3 schools for OC. Think liberty was better for him with his image to be HC at a big school again

That's how religion works in TN/everywhere else . Preach about how you're going to hell for drinking and gambling, but then stop at the gas station to buy a Powerball ticket and 6-pack of Bud Light on the way home from "church." But during that hour of preaching you feel enlightened and going to change your ways tomorrow.
That is far from the truth. Christianity is founded on forgiveness. Granted, many people who claim to be Christian don’t act anywhere this way, but the true Way of Christ is filled with forgiveness, compassion, and love. It’s time to stop going out and find all the bad apples and claim that all Christians act this way. It’s simply not true. Liberty is practicing forgiveness and reconciliation towards Freeze. Now we wait and see what he does with it.

Nobody wanted to touch this guy after speaking with him. There has to be something there because the guy can coach. But maybe he hasn't learned anything from past mistakes and people pick up on it. If he's taking a HC job at Liberty it might be out of necessity.

If Freeze truly takes a job at liberty it tells me he never had a legitimate offer from a school like fsu or an sec school. Apparently he had interviews but no offer was extended.

You got it ass backwards dude. Forgiveness and redemption are two tenets of Christianity. You see it as hypocrisy, when in all actuality, it lines up perfectly with what the church/religion preaches.

Good try KB.

If you believe that a man in the sky made everything that exists, including you. Sent his only son to die a painful death and has a vested interest in you. You have the ability to talk to him daily and sing songs of gratitude to him, even thank him for your fried chicken on sundays while holding hands....yet you can't love your wife and your god enough to not break one of his 10 commandments. It's not hypocrisy, it's mental illness.

Try testing gravity like you test god. See which foundational belief is stronger.

Not true. Finebaum asked how did you end up there and not TN, AU, etc. He said you would have to ask them I'm sure they were still worried about hiring me and rightfully so.

Was a great interview.

Why are we still saying if he takes the Liberty job? His press conference was hours ago at Liberty.

Misconception, actually. The commandments were given not as a means to achieve righteousness, but as proof that we can't. Flesh is weak and there has only once walked a sinless man on Earth. Once we accept that we cannot save ourselves, it opens the mind and heart to accepting God's substitutionary gift of justification through the blood of Christ. We don't "deserve" or "earn" anything. That's the meaning of Grace.

Not to get sidetracked, just clarifying!

Er, umm, take it to the Politics forum?

I keed, I keed (and I actually believe much the same), but it's getting a bit testy in here. None of us know what Freeze might have done beyond the paid entertainment - did he also cheat when recruiting, and if so, how much and how badly? and all the rest.

And I have to say that in general, I am uncomfortable with public proclamations of spiritual matters. I tilt toward Matthew 6:5-6. There, I'm just as bad as anyone else! lol

PS - what is with the black background when posting the old-school VN smilies via Microsoft Edge? weird

I have serious doubts people wagering IQ bets could even pass an ASVAB
When I took it they tried to talk me into changing my MOS to intelligence (they wanted me to be a spy). I'm sure you scored just as high? I also have an advanced degree from an Ivy League institution, but I'm sure you have two.

If that was truly his statement then I don’t think it means what you want it to me. He is stating that had reservations and didn’t offer
