You know last year they got a OL and DL that were both ranked in the top 10 of overall recruits. Also their OL was hot garbage last year and we couldn't get to their QB at all. Well that may be due to us not really blitzing a red shirt freshman with a patchwork OL...oh god last year was an embarrassment of defensive play calling
According to Rivals:
The last two years Florida has signed 8 three-star offensive linemen, and one five star offensive linemen. That's a 3.2 star average per player over the last two years, or a little better than mid-major.
The last two years Tennessee has signed 3, three-stars, 4, four-stars, and 1, five-star offensive linemen. That is a 3.75 star average per player, or pretty much where a championship level D-1 school should be.
The last two years Florida has signed 2, Three-star Defensive tackles...that's it. Once again, that is mid major level recruiting at that position. They have done ok at DE though. To factor DE into the whole equation though, Florida has signed 2, two-stars, 2, three-stars, and 2, five stars. Total defensive line average star rating is 3.3 stars per player.
Tennessee on the other hand has signed 1, three-star, 4, four-stars, and 3, five-star defensive linemen during that same time period for an average of 4.25 stars per player. That is a ridiculous amount of talent along the DL for the Vols.
In short, the next two years Tennessee greatly outclasses Florida along the lines of scrimmage.
Tennessee got pressure last year, but mysteriously backed off during crucial situations like 4 and long.
