Finished! Done!

Now I'm picturing Butch Jones in a black robe, standing over a bonfire and chanting rocky top in latin while he slaughters a chicken and pours its blood into the flames. The Tennessean was the kindling.

You are a gator. People here often forget that because you only mention it 1 week a year. I never forget, because you and 8188 are the 2 most misguided trolls on the planet. At least he Is a Volunteer though aND not a gator. Go worship your qb. He needs all the voodoo he can get. My hs qb was better than him. Seriously. Of course we had to play the one on steroids though..not the terrible one.

Read the lawsuit. It's linked in this thread. I don't think you really know the depth of what is alleged. It isn't simply that some individuals committed some sexual indiscretions.
The plantiffs have sworn testimony (at risk of perjury) from a former Vice Chancellor and director of student judicial affairs that the Chancellor, President and AD ignored repeated warnings about the culture and risk from an inordinate amount of sexual assaults. And that those in leadership acted to undermine proper investigation. It ain't good. Saying there are "two sides" is really ignoring what is on the table at this juncture.

I did read it and I appreciate you posting it. My point was that the document paints a very disturbing picture, but I've been told by sources close to the Von Pearson incident that it's a bunch of garbage. Based on this I'm willing to bet some of the other situations may not be as bad as the document leafs you to believe. Their goal is money..... The worse you make it appear..... The more money you're likely to get.
I'm not saying the guys are all innocent or little angels, but you need to view this for what it is. It's a smear document at this point.

Should Von Pearson sue her for stating in the lawsuit his name and that he did it?

Treon Harris isn't their QB anymore. He's moving to WR.

Tennessee traditionally has around 125-130 players on its football roster per season. Does OP claim that all these young men are part of the "culture" of sexual assault on the Tennessee campus?

If you are going to point the blame at anyone, then take a look at the people who are running this university. The vast majority of kids who enter this university as athletes leave it having contributed more to the university than it has ever given back to them.

For every bad apple you can point out, I can find dozens more who do not fall into the box a disgruntled set of former Tennessee employees seek to place them in.

I would suggest OP waits for Tennessee's response (Thankfully one that will not be prepared by Jimmy Cheek, Mr. DiPietro, Ms. Martin, or any member of the UT Office of Public Affairs.) before offering a blanket condemnation of our alma mater.

If we were the FSU-level goons described in the filing, then we would not have done what we did with our best defensive player at the close of the 2014 season. He would've kept playing. UT would've slow-walked the investigation and held off on working with the KPD on the matter.

The University of Tennessee Athletic Department did none of those things. This is not a culture condoning sexual assault. And as a strong critic of Dave Hart and the overall performance of the athletic programs in general, I would stridently suggest that his record on such matters at Tennessee in this regard is a good one.

It is too bad we do not have laws in this country where the plaintiff in such vindictive, self-serving lawsuits isn't forced to compensate the defendants when they lose. That would cut down on some of this.

As it stands now, we are probably going to be forced to settle rather than fight. Such is the climate that exists right now. We are judged guilty before we have a chance to even respond legally.

There are already facts. The arrests of former and current players are facts. The cases already run through the UTAD are already facts. Tim Rogers resignation is a fact.

The only way more "facts" come into play is if this goes to trial, which would be a **** storm of epic proportions. We've got a bunch of people whistling past the graveyard. Here is my advice. Divest yourself from UT sooner rather than later.

Really? I thought he retired after 38 years.

That makes a LOT of sense now.

Hey, perhaps you should address the actual content of the lawsuit. Oh, wait, you haven't read it. The Duke Lacrosse team incident was a criminal case brought by an over zealous DA, who was relying on one victim who was also a stripper and escort and had no corroborating witnesses. Do you really think that is what this civil case is about?

Your comparison is nothing short of stupid. I think i suggested reading the case before you commented. Had you done so, you would have spared yourself looking like a clueless moron.

How so? The media and other assumed guilt of the Duke players and crucified them. You just did the same thing to UT after having read only one side of the matter. So therefore my comparison is spot on.

You're simply not paying attention.
I haven't crucified any players. Read the dman lawsuit.

OP: you've articulated your opinion. You are done with UT, and college athletics in general. Fine. Move on to better things.

Hanging around Volnation forum and this thread makes no sense. It's like the divorced spouse who says they are moving on but then continues to show up at their ex in-laws' house talking crap about their ex.
