Explosion in Boston?

so why does it matter? what's your issue with it?

He could have sent out his press corp. and had the same result. He didn't have to come out today and speak again unless he had new information.

They are going to give periodic press conferences to update the country. Obama is expected to be the face at these press conferences. If he weren't there, people would criticize him for thinking that this wasn't a major issue, and that he wasn't concerned about the bombing.

Good lord. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. I would hate to have the responsibility of the president.

Yep. And the ridiculous thing is if it were Bush, I bet the ones on here complaining would be silent, and it would be the LG types finding every little thing to complain about.

It comes from both sides. You do the same thing.

But I agree, it's annoying as piss.

People that cannot objectively look at things are annoying. As a pseudo conservative, I get just as aggravated if not moreso with those on the right who don't have the capability to rationalize their opinions.

Just don't see the point in him wasting his and our valuable time.

did someone make all of us watch that?

you're on a message board whining about a guy talking on the television, while simultaneously whining about wasted time.

I thought that press conference was pretty pointless. Not gonna complain about it or bash Obama though.

I have zero doubt somebody on here would b**** and moan about how the president doesn't care because he hasn't addressed the nation again today. Somebody will always find something wrong.

You're probably right.

Again, I disagree about him being expected to be the face of those press conferences; but as I said earlier, if the majority would criticize him if he is not, then so be it. I wasn't complaining, just disagreeing with those who think he was required to release the same statement as he did yesterday.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't is the perfect way to put it. It certainly wouldn't be the easiest job in the world [understatement of the day], that's for sure.

This is how I feel - but if the majority disagree, then I guess POTUS made the right call.

Because people want updates. An update to say there is no new information is still an update.

An update that could have easily and understandably been delivered by the press corp.

I've complimented Bush a dozen times on here for his initial response and speeches after 9/11.

While there are people on both sides who are permanent naysayers, you have to admit that there are a sick number of people who just get off on complaining about everything Obama does. As pointed out by others, when you do that, you diminish the effectiveness of criticism on real issues

That is unfortunately very true.
