Explain This...

Remember when Fulmer cherry picked from GA, NC and SC for all that talent? Well, UT is now the program near death and those other teams are picking our bones instate.

It would be interesting, in an alternate universe sort of way, to see what would happen if Saban and staff had only 3 stars to coach.

Easy to explain. Pruitt sucks and recruits probably sees nothing more than a glorified high school team

Rivera was under a prior HC regime that emphasized a vertical passing attack.

Our staff showed very little interest in a Top 60 player like Briningstool because he was too small. Wolfe decommitted from us because of our philosophy and usage of TEs. We didnt lose players because of our OL or QB but because Pruitt insists on a bland, outdated offense.
Chaney was our OC then.

I disagree. He hasn't been a disappointment recruiting. In fact, he's over achieved with our minimal success or lack of success.
Our overall recruiting rankings are worse than they were the first couple cycles under Butch and are just slightly better than Dooley.

And Dooley let him do his thing and encouraged a vertical passing attack....

Pruitt on the other hand....
Can our Oline pass block worth a damn? Funny seems like Pruitt used Dominick Woods-Anderson quite a bit in the pass game. 38 receptions 408 yds 3 TDs and quite a few drops when targeted along with over thrown. Sharing receptions with Calloway, Palmer, and Jennings on the field for 2 years....he was involved guy hate to break it to you.

Hate to break it to you but 2 Top 100 in-state TEs share my opinion and that's what matters (their thoughts, not mine or yours)

And DWA averaged 1.5 catches per game. Not sure that helps your point...

Explain how keeping Pruitt will help the ‘22 class when he couldn’t even recruit the top players in the state of Tennessee this year? I personally don’t care where we get our players from but this is still embarrassing.

you’re looking at it all wrong. We were a lot closer than it seems at first:
1.) 2 went to Clemson. Clemson is orange and white. So we weren’t too far off on those 2.
2.) One went to GA. Cade Mays transferred here from GA. So maybe he will too.
3.) one went to UNC. That’s a border state. He clearly didn’t want to move too far from home. We are even closer to home for him. So we might yet get him in a couple years if he doesn’t make the roster in Chapel Hill.
4.) 3 went to the big TEN(essee) so we ALMOST got them too.
5.) Kiffin got one. He could literally leave Ole Miss at any given second and come here in the middle of the night and bring that guy with him.
6. We GOT number 9! That’s not a top 10 player. That’s a TOP NINE player!
7. Number 8 is undecided. #lock

Sooooo.... looks like the joke is on you, OP

Colson was always going to Michigan and Kollie liked Norte Damn. You forget we had at the Time Terrance Lewis the number one linebacker committed the Willis kid a top five inside linebacker and a real shot at Small Mondon. Losing Wolfe hurt but other that the Pennington kid I don’t see a player on that list that was an absolute must have.

the lbs although strong players, aren’t too speedy

You have a generation of young people that haven't seen Tennessee win anything.

Some of the kids graduating high school this year were born in 2003. They were 4 years old when Tennessee made the SEC Title game in 2007. All they have seen is Tennessee lose.

If you were a kid growing up in Nashville and had no emotional connection to Tennessee and Notre Dame, Clemson, etc., came knocking on your door.....why would you pick Tennessee? Unless you just had to stay close to family, it's hard to not go elsewhere.

And even if you did have an emotional connection to Tennessee, at some point you have to pick with your head and not your heart. The recruitment of Arch Manning is going to be real interesting. I don't think his family would let him play for Lane Kiffin and it would be hard to advise him to go to Tennessee as well.

Involved in the passing game that was your argument.

I was never very excited about the Pruitt hire but the one thing that made me feel a little better was that he was supposedly this great recruiter. He did pretty well at first but it’s all falling apart now. Overall, he has been a disappointment from a recruiting perspective imo.
Recruiting is not enough if you can't keep them.

Are you expecting top 5 after our terrible 15 years of football? Butch also had a top class from the sheer numbers that he took. Also, many of those players transferred or were injured
