I've read the syllabus and the dissents. I'll dig into the actual ruling later.

The dissent basically comes down to the 4 liberals' disagreement with RFRA. Ginsburg doesn't really attack the ruling of the court within the confines of RFRA, but rather takes on RFRA as a burden on necessary governance. She doesn't actually say that, obviously, but that's ultimately the case she makes.

Hold on.

While I do not think people should be required to join a union to have a job, I do think that collective bargaining almost always inures to the benefit of the workers, and so they should join. Now, there are many cases of abuse by labor management. Fraud, mismanagement, etc. But I think overall the unionization of employees is a net positive for them.

So, forced to join? No. Should join? Yes.

I'll disagree. Unions at one point served their purpose, but this day in age do little more than advance the agenda of those in power and destroy the American economy by making it impossible for companies to compete in the global market.

I think the market itself is a wonderful corrective tool for businesses with shoddy work practices.

Okay so I'm up for some Obama bashing just as much as anyone but this was an informal speech as a going away for the kings hired servants. I know I've made jokes about something being so good and addictive it had to have crack in it. I don't get the outrage here.

Possibly in the short term but it frequently has rendered the company non-competitive either leading to bankruptcy or lower than possible growth (less jobs).

There is no surprise that where unions are thriving is the public sector where there is no competition and "management" has to be elected by said union so they open the candy store.

A report shows that this pos law cost taxpayers a total $840 Million dollars for the ObamaCare website that still has so many holes in it that it looks more like swiss cheese that's been shredded.

Unbelievable. That is the way they phrased, "Obama lied to the people of the United States."

"Almost 90% of the nation's 30 million uninsured won't pay a penalty under the ACA in 2016 because of a growing batch of exemptions to the health-coverage.....The Obama Administration has provided 14 ways people can avoid the fine based on hardships, including suffering domestic violence, experiencing substantial property damage from a fire or flood, and having a canceled insurance plan. Those come on top of exemptions carved out under the 2010 law for groups including illegal immigrants, members of Native American tribes and certain religious sects".
