Even More Obamacare Follies

I just don't understand how so many changes to this law are happening yet they're not coming from Congress. Are they not the only ones who can amend federal laws? When was the POTUS or OPM given this ability?

Right after Barrys coronation ...

It was a shell of legislation that vested the detail work of "how" to various executive agencies (in this latest case the OPM). HHS has the bulk of the power.

Why Congressional members willingly turned this much power over to the Executive Branch I'll never know.

They don't want to take the time to read or really understand the legislation, so they are wiping their hands clean of whatever comes out of it, in my opinion. They want to be able to come back and say they didn't vote on the specifics and it is completely the fault of the executive branch. I suspect they are betting on the fact that the general electorate will buy that explanation.

honestly, the bulk of the legislation was written by the health insurers. I can't imagine a worse group of authors.

I think the health insurers may actually want a single payer system. They'll be contracted to process the claims, but won't have the financial issues involved with actuality being responsible for paying them.

it is redundant to talk about gov't bureaucracy being inefficient, wasteful and ineffective. I don't think anyone, even the blind homers (LG types) expect that this thing will ever work.

Never underestimate the little brain of the average voter. The card carrying extremists on both sides of the spectrum are generally even more stupid.

I guarantee some out there really believe this will work and be good for the country.

Admission.....can those of you that are liberal dickheads....is this really what you want?

Reid says Obamacare just a step toward eventual single-payer system - Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013 | 2 a.m. - Las Vegas Sun

I think single payer was the goal the entire time.

Create something, as a starting point, and put pressure on private sector insurance companies. Put a dent in their profits, make it harder for them to do business, and get more people on a govt insurance plan. Make it more difficult, expensive, and less beneficial for private sector employees to use private sector insurance.

As insurance companies are losing customers, having to pay much higher govt costs, and then get govt restrictions like no turning away applicants based on their medical history.....there's really only one way their future can turn.

Which in the end will leave millions(more) of people asking the govt to give them health insurance at the cost of someone else.

When do we, the voter stop this b.s. in Washington, DC and do something about it? The next election is 2014 and the voter needs to do something about it and make some changes in Washington (i.e replace those running for re-election). Do we trust those in Wasahington DC making decisions? Seems we do as the voter keeps re-electing them and giving them longer tenure. Seems our elected officials seems to exempt themselves from just about everything that effects the American public. Not right amd they keep their total salary after leaving office and hardly pay anything for healthcare. Wrong again! Get out and be heard and have your neighbors get behind you and help make changes in 2014. The next Presidential election is November 2015. Make some changes in the White House then. Biden will probably run for President. A lot ot people are unhappy with him too!

Shoulder injury from the military flaring up. I go to the VA in JANUARY to ask to be seen about it. It's August....still waiting. There is your single payer system and that's at a
"good" VA hospital.

I wish it was that easy. Now the takers and sheep outnumber the makers and those that have any amount of common sense. The vast majority of black folks, union members, welfare recipients and morons vote democrat automatically. That's a huge obstacle to overcome.

People will realize what a screw job they've been given, but it will be too late.

I took your advice and started my paperwork for VA. When I tried to make an appointment for my knee they said December.

Yeah screw that.
