Even More Obamacare Follies

The fix for staffers isn't so bad on it's face but it's the optics of the only things Congress can get done are things that help them directly - screw the rest of us.

Doesn't help that the POTUS is playing small ball to score political points rather than showing any leadership on anything.

You would think after being in office for 4 1/2 years Obama would have learned the WH has to reach out to Congress in a sincere way to get anything accomplished. He may think he is a dictator but he is not.

He really makes no effort and in public absolutely trashes the people he should be working with THEN accuses THEM of playing politics.

It's galling really and a sign of really poor leadership.

Clinton and Reagan where much better at gaining cooperation and even the Bush's were too.

The other trait of a poor leader he exhibits is his constant distancing of himself from the government. He continually talks like he's an outsider. He never takes ownership and responsibility (except for Bin Laden of course).

He is the only POTUS that I can remember that refuses to work with the other party. I can remember back to Kennedy, they all reached out to the other side.
Obama or his advisers should know "You can catch more flies with a little honey"

Small Businesses Can't Avoid ObamaCare by Switching to Part-Time Workers. Source is Brietbart.

..."Keeping in mind that, under ObamaCare, a “full-time” work week is only 30 hours, the SBA website provides an example: Company X has 40 full-time employees working 40 hours per week, along with 20 part-time employees working 15 hours per week. The 20 part-time employees are counted as 10 full-time equivalent employees. Company X has 50 full-time employees and is subject to the employer shared responsibility provisions."

I thought there must be this sort of clause in the legislation, labor hours vs actual head count.

Interesting, thanks for sharing.

They can't avoid it completely but it helps their situation.

Part timers probably didn't get health originally, and now the company has ten more full timers than before, right?

Edit: I guess the company is not paying for extra employees it would just count towards their total making them reach the 50 number.

Can some judge please declare this idiotic law unconstitional please -- tie the damn thing up in court for 3.5 years until the crumb is out the door, and hope the GOP finally picks someone with a brain.

Good point. Apparently, only the POTUS can choose to not implement law that was passed in Congress and upheld by the SCOTUS.

That's classic....what was his response?

Wh, whu, whu, whu... Then something about a hoodie in which my eyes rolled and we got started on entitlement programs. It was great to see though. He's 52, from the south. Outside of racial isuues he's awesome and we get along but by far hes the most racist person I've ever met. But I gotta poke at him every now and then haha.

Obamacare months behind in testing IT data security: government | Reuters

The federal government is months behind in testing data security for the main pillar of Obamacare: allowing Americans to buy health insurance on state exchanges due to open by October 1
The missed deadlines have pushed the government's decision on whether information technology security is up to snuff to exactly one day before that crucial date, the Department of Health and Human Services' inspector general said in a report.
As a result, experts say, the exchanges might open with security flaws or, possibly but less likely, be delayed.
Despite the tight IT deadlines Obamacare faces, the 2002 federal law on information security might provide an important loophole. The requirement that CMS's chief information officer make a "security authorization" decision does not mean the CIO has to conclude that the data hub is impregnable. He can decide that, despite identified security risks, the hub can operate.

what could possibly go wrong?
The most likely serious security breach would be identity theft, in which a hacker steals the social security numbers and other information people provide when signing up for insurance.

Sounds to me like employees would be the biggest threat since pretty much everyone involved in Obamacare from top to bottom will have access to your personal information.
