Exactly. we are going to pay one way or the other.
New way will end up costing more unless you believe people who now have insurance will suddenly change their use of the ER in favor of preventative care. These are people having to suddenly break years and years of habits. I don't have any faith in that happening
I guess you aren't a Christian. My mistake earlier in thinking you were.
I can be Christian and think it's not our secular govt's job to babysit the people of the country.
Biblical giving comes from the heart Gramps. It comes from a desire that is God given to give to your fellow man.
It does not come compulsory through taxes and fees.
I'm all for helping the poor, but I do not believe it should come through government.
billions are donated to charities every year -- where does it all go ? Someone is getting the lions share
When I was fresh out of college I worked for the march of dimes until I could find a career job. Very little of what was donated actually went to the disabled. I don't remember the percentage, but I'd say less than 30% of the money donated went to those suffering. And that's where buyer beware comes in. Some charities are awesome. Some not so much. Personally I'm lower middle class and give what I can. Sometimes it's in talent and not monetary (volunteer my musical skills for example) But I do believe that true Christian giving doesn't come through our govt
