Even More Obamacare Follies

I am not so arrogant as to think that my personal agreement with the anti-labor union folks on this issue renders the Court's decision a-political.

My personal opinion is not based on a political point. I simply happen to agree that people should not be required to associate with anything or anyone in order to be employed.

Uh oh, you are coming dangerously close to a conservative perspective.

Quick! Go watch a half hour of MSNBC and read the dialog from the 2009 Inauguration! Those feelings will pass!

I've read the syllabus and the dissents. I'll dig into the actual ruling later.

The dissent basically comes down to the 4 liberals' disagreement with RFRA. Ginsburg doesn't really attack the ruling of the court within the confines of RFRA, but rather takes on RFRA as a burden on necessary governance. She doesn't actually say that, obviously, but that's ultimately the case she makes.

Hold on.

While I do not think people should be required to join a union to have a job, I do think that collective bargaining almost always inures to the benefit of the workers, and so they should join. Now, there are many cases of abuse by labor management. Fraud, mismanagement, etc. But I think overall the unionization of employees is a net positive for them.

So, forced to join? No. Should join? Yes.

I'll disagree. Unions at one point served their purpose, but this day in age do little more than advance the agenda of those in power and destroy the American economy by making it impossible for companies to compete in the global market.

I think the market itself is a wonderful corrective tool for businesses with shoddy work practices.

So Obama referenced crack at the White House. That happened. | WashingtonExaminer.com

You can take the man/woman out of the ghetto, but not the ghetto out of the man/woman.

Totally unprofessional and uncalled for, and not even funny.

Okay so I'm up for some Obama bashing just as much as anyone but this was an informal speech as a going away for the kings hired servants. I know I've made jokes about something being so good and addictive it had to have crack in it. I don't get the outrage here.

If Bush said this it would be headline news.

1) when did Obama live in the ghetto? Or are you simply saying black = ghetto?

2) what does this have to do with Obamacare?

3) is this a phrase you're hearing for the first time? If so, you need to get out more

1. Kenya
2. It doesn't
3. Yes, is it an old saying?

Possibly in the short term but it frequently has rendered the company non-competitive either leading to bankruptcy or lower than possible growth (less jobs).

There is no surprise that where unions are thriving is the public sector where there is no competition and "management" has to be elected by said union so they open the candy store.

A report shows that this pos law cost taxpayers a total $840 Million dollars for the ObamaCare website that still has so many holes in it that it looks more like swiss cheese that's been shredded.

WASHINGTON -- President Barack Obama made a major political mistake by lying about the details of his health care plan, according to former House Financial Services Committee Chairman Barney Frank (D-Mass.).

"The rollout was so bad, and I was appalled -- I don't understand how the president could have sat there and not been checking on that on a weekly basis," Frank told HuffPost during a July interview. "But frankly, he should never have said as much as he did, that if you like your current health care plan, you can keep it. That wasn't true. And you shouldn't lie to people. And they just lied to people."

Barney Frank 'Appalled' By Obama Administration: 'They Just Lied To People'

I just set back laughing at these dumbed down clowns one by one.

And he hasn't stopped, either.

Priceless. The article says, "A recent Kaiser Family Foundation poll found that Obamacare continues to be widely misunderstood...."

Unbelievable. That is the way they phrased, "Obama lied to the people of the United States."

To quote an article from HotAir.com.... "Almost 90% of the nation's 30 million uninsured won't pay a penalty under the ACA in 2016 because of a growing batch of exemptions to the health-coverage.....The Obama Administration has provided 14 ways people can avoid the fine based on hardships, including suffering domestic violence, experiencing substantial property damage from a fire or flood, and having a canceled insurance plan. Those come on top of exemptions carved out under the 2010 law for groups including illegal immigrants, members of Native American tribes and certain religious sects".
