If you think the players' effort is directly or proportionally linked to the number of fans in the stands, you are delusional. They play for other reasons.

Well concessions may not affect the school at all. I don’t know about UT but Notre Dame (I live in south bend), they let the concessions be used as a source of fund raising for local youth clubs, sports and even for things like cancer. Each stand sells the exact same thing but they are run by people from the fund raising group and all profits go to that group.

If UT is like ND in that regard then boycotting the concessions does nothing to the AD and only hurts the community.

The only boycott that will show the fans are tired of the crap is if the fans stop showing up. If you insist on showing up do something that shows the school your message about supporting the players not the coach. A paper bag over your head or a sign or even shirts that say fire butch. Showing up dressed head to toe in UT gear and acting like everything is ok will only say to the school you don’t care how horrible of a product the produce, you will spend spend spend and show up whether they hire gruden or some guy off the street that’s never coached before.
And guess what if that’s the message you send, then they will look at the overhead and go the cheap route and know you will show up and cheer without fear of a stadium full of fire butch/Currie gear embarrassing them on national tv.

I disagree about the seats should be filled. Admin and big donors are concerned about TV perception as well. Empty stadium = poor reflection upon state of program. In my humble opinion, that pressure needs to be brought to bear.

I understand everyone’s complaints and I’m not saying I disagree but how can this possibly look good to future coaches or future recruits? I understand the whole hit them in their pocketbook but I just think this can hurt us more than it helps. I’ve had season tickets for a long,long, long time now and I’ve seen some good and a lot of bad but I can’t help it - I’m a Vol fan. And I just think with our actions if we don’t have Gruden in the bag we are killing ourselves for the future. What do we have to offer any coach or player to come here other than our support? It sucks guys I know. I feel the pain to and I can argue both sides or the conversation but I think long term our actions ( as fans )are hurting us more than anyone is realizing.

The administration have hoodwinked the fans for so long and don't value this program like Neyland and many others did. Fans have had enough and their only vote is with their wallet. They will reap what they have been sowing for many yrs.

In case anyone(Potential coaches/players)is unsure, Loyal Vol Fans will boo and boycott if you lose too many games. Get used to it.

Call me crazy or stupid but in my opinion that’s what is considered to be a fair weather fan. I wanna win and get just as mad as anyone but to me it looks bad on the whole fan base. Honest question but why are we ( Tennessee ) entitled to be so good? Does no other school care about football like we do? Is it because we’ve been so dominant in the past? Or because we have 102,455 seats in our stadium? I think if we could all step back and look at how outsiders look at us we would see we all sound like a bunch of spoiled brats

And we wondered how could 100 loyal Vandy fans go watch that garbage back in the day. Made fun of them. Im not loyal to a mediocre administration or coach. The fans that do go this wkend and spend $.....all of it should go to the players and not to the administration. They don't deserve a penny from the fans

The cancer won't be out until a new coach is here making a complete sweep and coaching the football team.

That's not happening last week, this week, or next week.

Do you know what causes fair weather fan?

Answer: fairweather administration, leadership, and coaching.

TN has some of the best resources in the country to be a lot better than they are. It has been devalued by the ppl in power and it looks like it has trickled down to fans. They run this place like it's Vandy. On top of that they charge high prices and give so little in return. They only see $.....not integrity of what Neyland intended it to be.

Interm could finish. And shop and hire after season. Job is more appealing this go around. But he is the cancer though.

I understand it didn't happen. And they will be reaping what they sowed. All fans don't have same mindset

Which of the cancerous assistants do you suggest?

Currie won't be judged by which week he fired Jones, he ll be judged by who he replaces him with. He gets that right, and the "empty crowd" will file back into Neyland like they re handing out free booze.
