Doug Matthews just reiterated...

He just said on 104.5 the zone that they already know who they are hiring. Same thing he said last week. Still saying it's already taken care of and TN fans can R-E-L-A-X (I'm paraphrasing)

He also went on to say that interviews continue simply to get information. Not to hire someone.

It better not be like our last A.D. when he said he had someone in mind.... Also, I think when they are still conduct interviews, they are doing so to get a hire, not to probe for information. I still believe, as I have from day # 1, that Friend will be out new O.C.
Kinda like a thief caught red handed in your house and he says he only broke in to see what brand of refrig. you had and he had no intention of stealing. How many really believe that ????????

Maybe we should have Doug consult with Volman365 about how to properly give information about a coaching search.

Interviewing even though they already have someone? That makes about as much sense as looking for something you lost, and after you find it you keep looking.

I don't know the details, just that it didn't work out well. He was at Tulsa the next year.
Gus was bringing Mustang and three or four others that were in his system and as soon as spring practice started Nutt started to change how much of the offense they were going to run and changed the terminology as well. He also decided not to run it as a hurry up.

Pruitt is to busy recruiting to hold interviews if he has decided on his man. He may be looking to up grad or establish a backup.

Are you questioning how Matthew's could get information with the staff being on lockdown?

No, I'm saying if Fulmer is feeding him information, he should have worded his tweet differently.

Maybe Pruitt is smarter and ten steps ahead of some of you guys.??
That may in fact be the case and I hope it is. My question is what’s as he done up until now that would make one think he is smarter than anyone? And I’m a Pruitt fan and hope he does great

It's got to be a NFL guy.

Why?

1. Pruitt has elite recruiters on staff, no reason to announce the new OC or put him on the recruiting trail this close to ESD, would possibly sidetrack momentum.

2. If it was a current NCAA coach elsewhere it would have leaked, between recruits and previous players/staff someone would say something. Less likely at NFL level since they're in season and focused on the playoff hunt.

3. Most recruits coming to UT already got relationships with their positional coach & Pruitt. QB is the only position new OC can really help with, but again it's too close to ESD to build any relationship with recruits. Bailey is a 2020 class guy so he has over a year to build a rapport with whoever the new OC ends up being.

My thoughts at least...#StayingDelusionallyPositive

Alright, I'll be that guy. These criteria would apply to a high school coach as well. I don't think that's going to happen, but I'm certainly not getting my hopes up for a quality NFL coach at this point.

Being that UT is a public university, I imagine they are required to “interview” a certain amount of candidates for a job. Maybe I’m wrong.

If so, and you have “your guy” why not interview some big names to see how and why they found success at other places? Knowledge is power and despite rivalries, coaches talk.

Just a thought.

And if we do have our guy, that’s good right?? Unless they suck.

Oh.
About all it appears he has fed him is that they have picked someone.

I take meaningful as names, dates, contract details, and when they are starting.

Thought the same thing after I posted it, lol. We shall see I just want someone already...
