Doug Matthews just reiterated...

@PulaskiVolFan

Pretty weak sauce to call a bunch of people moaning and groaning Idiots then run off, and not respond when questioned.

Getting your list of replacements ready after you fire him in November.

Now that makes perfect sense. Have a short list in your desk of potential replacements if you have an emergency and need to replace a O.C. or an offensive position coach quickly. This way, you are ahead of the ball game.
I still believe that it is Friend though and will be announced AFTER Early Enrollee's are on campus.

Oh.
About all it appears he has fed him is that they have picked someone.

I take meaningful as names, dates, contract details, and when they are starting.

Yea, I take anything he tweets out that implies he knows something meaningful, if its all bull crap and then tweets that the staff talks to no one and there are no leaks. Haha.

i guess i'm just gullible.

this makes sense to me and the fans DON'T have to know who the OC is going to be.

however, this is a fan board and every 'fanatic' feels they deserve to know everything about what's going on.

We had to tell some recruits who the hire is. There is no way a highly ranked recruit that played a skill position would sign if he didn't know the hire. Maybe that goes along with the recent followers of a certain coach on twitter???

There is also no way in this day and age of social media that it wouldn't have leaked by now

The clusterduck in Knoxville continues

Tune in next week as we find out that we aren't any closer to hiring an OC than we were 3 weeks ago

Makes no sense on a lot of levels.

Usually people hire someone they have a previous relationship with and know.

They don’t need to fact find or even interview.

They know the guy already

They won the West and went to Atlanta. If that’s “not working out well” means then I’m ready for some of that.

Gus and 3 or 4 of the 5 Springdale players he brought with him left after that season. That's not working out well in my book.

We will find out once the hire is announced, but I suspect (to a 95% certainty :) ) that all of this is largely rumor, and that Occam's Razor applies: the simplest explanation usually is the correct one.

Either we have offered and have been turned down by at least one candidate, or the search itself is a bit slow and disorganized.

Time will tell.

Get out of here with that

No need in bringing sense to this thread

Its meaningful from the sense that Pruitt isn't running around the country with a bag of cash no one wants. Which is starting to become the perception. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he doesn't have a name or any specifics. And if he did, I don't think he lets any of that go. If you believe him, he told you something meaningful for the present that won't be really meaningful without the extra details and a hire.

If all of this is BS and Pruitt walks out a dud that everyone says "this is what you were waiting for?" Matthews has compromised himself severely with those that listen to him everyday. In other words, he'd been better off to stay silent like many others should have done. And or he hasn't covered for his buddy Phil.

Wonder if it is Matt Canada? Suppose to have SEC ties and such! His name is awfully quiet right now!

So a "redneck" is someone who doesn't believe the administration's talking point that the search is going well and they have their guy even though they keep interviewing people. Makes sense, I know when I have a job opening I fill it then continue interviewing people for weeks on end just for the heck of it. I also know that people love to be interviewed for no apparent reason whatsoever even though there is a job opening.

This isnt worth arguing about for me. I think if he knows anything at all, big or small, he shouldnt tweet out that "the staff is talking to no one, there are no leaks" if in fact Fulmer is talking to him. Jmo. No big deal.

I'll chit if we hire Probst, but if he and Pruitt don't "work out well" like that, I'll be fine. Lol.

If he was claiming the info came from the staff (or his known connection Phil was a staff member) and that they wern't leaking info to anyone else I could see the beef.

I have a connection to a "head hunter" in college basketball. Interviews have multi uses and a lot of them know before hand what they are doing it for. I doubt Football is all that different.
