He just said on 104.5 the zone that they already know who they are hiring. Same thing he said last week. Still saying it's already taken care of and TN fans can R-E-L-A-X (I'm paraphrasing)
He also went on to say that interviews continue simply to get information. Not to hire someone.
It better not be like our last A.D. when he said he had someone in mind.... Also, I think when they are still conduct interviews, they are doing so to get a hire, not to probe for information. I still believe, as I have from day # 1, that Friend will be out new O.C.
Kinda like a thief caught red handed in your house and he says he only broke in to see what brand of refrig. you had and he had no intention of stealing. How many really believe that ????????
Gus was bringing Mustang and three or four others that were in his system and as soon as spring practice started Nutt started to change how much of the offense they were going to run and changed the terminology as well. He also decided not to run it as a hurry up.I don't know the details, just that it didn't work out well. He was at Tulsa the next year.
It's got to be a NFL guy.
Why?
1. Pruitt has elite recruiters on staff, no reason to announce the new OC or put him on the recruiting trail this close to ESD, would possibly sidetrack momentum.
2. If it was a current NCAA coach elsewhere it would have leaked, between recruits and previous players/staff someone would say something. Less likely at NFL level since they're in season and focused on the playoff hunt.
3. Most recruits coming to UT already got relationships with their positional coach & Pruitt. QB is the only position new OC can really help with, but again it's too close to ESD to build any relationship with recruits. Bailey is a 2020 class guy so he has over a year to build a rapport with whoever the new OC ends up being.
My thoughts at least...#StayingDelusionallyPositive
