Im not worried about rebounding at all....I think CDT system is not built in the traditional big guy out muscling another big guy for the ball. We will be tall and long 1-5 on the court and our speed and athleticism will be used to get rebounds in our match up zone.
As for the press, I dont think we will have any problems with it bc we will be going against it every single day in practice. I am worried about the PG controlling tempo and getting us in correct spots on offense though.
We will see...
I'm guessing we will struggle some against a press from Florida
I'm not saying that I wouldn't like a PG with great ball handling skill. I just think coaching and passing break presses more consistanly. This team should have enough tall ball handlers to deal with most pressing teams as long as they don't inbound the ball into a corner and then run away from the guy.
Define Struggle Some? This could be stated in every game any team plays.
This is what I am talking about a team that has not played a game or practiced together and you are predicting an outcome with a vague standard. The only Fact is that we play Florida. It is Laughable.
Ahhh so if DT doesn't win at least 19 then you'll have the same level of "passion" toward him as you do CCM, since you're paying it forward and all.
Last year Southern Mississippi ranked 13th in rebounding margin in the entire NCAA outrebounding oppontents by 6.5 a game. That is totally opposite being crushed on the boards.Rebounding out of a match up zone is one of the big drawbacks of the match up zone. If you don't believe me, Syracuse, who was long and athletic 1-5 last year got crushed on the boards using their 2-3 match up zone. So did USM.

Good point about USM's rebounding. 6.5 per game is excellent. I was just looking at their R.P.G. at 35.5 which wasn't in the top 100. If they averaged 35.5 per and their opponents averaged 29 per, it doesn't appear that the tempo of the game was very fast.
I haven't judged it have I? Have I once said he's a failure?
