Donnieball Taking Shape!

Dude they run and press all over the floor. None of the stats actually show that, but I know fast tempo when I see it, even if doesn't involve taking a bunch of shots or pushing the tempo on the offense end.

Wait...wut?

I see what you did. Be prepared to be assaulted by those that don't like math.

Quite frankly, I don't believe the SEC has ever seen what they are getting ready to see next year. Just my opinion! Where does that take us? It's fun to think about, isn't it?

The tempo is not fast, anyone who thinks it is, is in for a rude awakening.

Its fast enough....We will pressure the ball and get out and run when we can. We are nowhere near the controlled chaos that Pearl ran....I dont really think the issue with Zo's offense was tempo as much as it was that when we didnt play fast then guys would just stand around and watch the guy with the ball. This offense should feature alot of cuts, screens and several dunks.

They do press and run......they also feature a defense that makes the other teams offense work and when we are on offense we use alot of cuts and screens with guys constantly moving to get good shots.

Yes, you have implied that he will be a failure if he does not win X amount of games or that his plan failed if he does not meet X amount of wins.

Maybe not splitting hairs with the "wordsmith" games but your opinion is throughout this board. If he does not win X then he has failed and was not the right coach. You will not go totally there, but you have laid enough pipe to beat your chest if it does or doesn't happen.

All kinda over speculating without a practice or game being played.

If you can't win 18 games at Tennessee it's a bad look, and a bad job, you're making this more complicated than it really is.

I don't argue that but most of that goes back to game plan needs to be more than "throw it to the PG."

Can you scheme to beat it? Absolutely. Will we? Who knows, nobody can say either way.

What I do know is he was 2-2 against a coach who pressed a lot and had less talent than he did.

And Zo was 1-3 against Vandy&aTm last season...so Donnie was 1 better.

Not complicated. That's your bar. 18 fair enough.

Why, did you use 20 a few posts back.

Let's see if he gets it or not.

You talking about Tyndall? Or Martin? Either way I'm talking in generalities about breaking presses. Only talked specifics about how UT failed to break them (at times last year). I haven't seen any type of film on Tyndall's teams to make any specific comments on his coaching in regards to press breaking (which I don't think I have done)

Not saying you have to either. Just saying the point you are trying to make is lost on many who now just see you a being negative.

I don't think he gets it,

I do like his insight but not the way he delivers it which speaks to his youth, his somewhat hard headiness, and dismissive nature.

I just pray he is on someones payroll or a student and not drawing unemployment

Fwiw, I think BTO is doing well for himself financially. I'm not sure where that little dig started but based on some things he's posted I'm sure he gets a chuckle out of it.

Are you talking about LA Tech......the talent level was comparable and LA Tech whipped the third place SEC team this past yr. Its pretty obvious why you are trying to make these points.

Because 18 should be a minimum for anyone, but people are talking about this perfect plan, Bruce Pearl type run, and how the SEC has never seen anything like Donnie ball. If all that's true he should win more than the minimum
