Did Tee Really start this ?

Is that what qualifies as "hate" now? Not believing that Tee's body of work qualifies him to get his first shot at being a HC by learning on the job at UT?

It's not even that. If he wanted a HC job he'd stayed in contention with South Alabama job. What was so bad about his coaching this year? WR's blocked, worked hard, played ST when required, and were one of our most successful groups. He needs some more OC experience, but he's learned from some good coaches and knows how to coach. Just seems more like you think he's not worthy to be HC at UT. No ones saying he should be. You're just jumping the gun.

Regardless of Tees coaching acumen or lack thereof, we would have a great slogan almost as good as “Freeze Warning”. With Coach Martin we would say “It’s Tee Time in Tennessee” Break out the Earl Gray and crumpets 😂

We gave the keys to the Vol kingdom to a Bammer who had never head coached so how's that working out for us? Tee has never been a head coach, however he may very well have the skills to be one. He knows and understands the game. If PF decides to go the up and comer route he could not do a lot better than T other than Venables over at Clemson and he ain't leaving. But PF needs to understand no matter who he puts in as the next HC, if it doesn't work, he goes out the door with them.

That's some really poor logic. Pruitt being a bad choice for HC, doesn't suddenly make Tee a good choice in spite of his lack of success as a coordinator, and zero HC experience.

Same goes for Tee...

Hell, Tee doesn't even have a win as a head coach.

I am not saying i want Tee. Just saying imo he would probably do better than Pruitt, which isnt saying much. I prefer a proven winning head coach

Until he proves it at the smaller schools, I do not believe he is ready for a program needing to be rebuild from the ground up.

Don't know how this thread turned into a "I don't want Tee for HC" thread off of rumors of disconnect within the staff.

Because deep down, we know they(AD/Boosters) are just stupid and lazy enough to promote him to HC without experience.

Tee "removed his name from consideration", after it was clear South Alabama was going with Wommack. Tee had two interviews, it's obvious that he'd most likely have accepted the job if it had been offered.

Regardless, the SEC, and UT in particular is not the location for Tee Martin to get his first shot at being a head coach. His resume doesn't even warrant considering it, and the only reason you are even talking about it is because he played for UT in the NC season.

I've never said Tee should be a HC anywhere. All I'm asking is why all the disdain and hate on a guy who's been nothing but a good coach and leader for us. Not like his group performed anything like Friend's group, Weinke's group, DL, or Ansley's group.

I really hope this isn’t the case. I will say this though, and since we’re using Volnugs as a source I don’t feel so guilty, Finebaum was talking about how there is a Game of Thrones scenario going on behind the scenes here.
I would ask what that reference meant but I'd have to admit I've never seen that show.

It’s great having Tee back at UT, but he needs to teach the wideouts to be more physical and have more fight in them before evening thinking about being a HC.

The only reason Tee is coaching at UT, is because no California coach would hire him, and he'd be gone without a look back if one of them would.

See, you talking at me and don't know what you're even talking about. I never said Tee was ready for a HC job anywhere. All I asked was why does he get hated on when he's been nothing but a good coach for us. You mentioned his body of work. USC's coach was trying to get his brother some Of work. Wasn't because Tee was terrible. Just because of a rumor, you act like he's trying to take Pruitt's job.

Not disdain! We need to see a resume of proof, before UT just hands over the keys. Want to be king? Then go out and win some great battles to prove that you are worthy of the throne.

He would be an utter DISASTER!!! He is NOT a very good coach in the least. His receivers have terrible technique, especially footwork. And this comes from several other coaches who know what they are talking about. Now if Tee can't coach up a receiver, there is NO WAY I'd want him as HC. He was relieved of his OC duties at SC. HARD pass!!!
A head coach should be more of a CEO anyway. Like Dabo was never a good OC (was only OC for one year). I don't think Tee is a bad WR coach, but he's certainly not an elite talent developer like his reputation was at USC. Either way, I'm not lobbying for him to be our head coach, but I think he can be a good head coach if he surrounds himself with the right coaches and is able to manage a team and recruit. He should certainly be trying to do that at a smaller college first.

UT isn't handing anything over to Tee. Everyone knows he's not ready. Why is everyone so afraid? No one talking about Chaney or Weinke or Graham, being HC. Why Tee?

I've know Trey since he was 14 years old. His family and Tee's family are close. Whether Trey is getting info from Tee or not, I don't know. But there is definitely a connection there.
I'm sure he is connected to Tee however Trey lost all credibility during 2017 with the Gruden trash. He verbatim regurgitated everything he saw on here on every talk show that would have him. Then he really went to hell when he joined fanrun
