if you are a warlock you can die on the first part of the bridge, and then self res at 0:00 and all the adds will be despawned on your side

I got the sniper rifle from killing crota, its decent , almost as useful as the ice breaker

Any tips for Crota? Tried once and didn't beat him. Might try again tonight.

Soloing the bridge: As a Warlock
Make sure your super is charged
Walk across the middle plate to begin the instance, it will start with the thralls spawn
Die by the thralls or jumping off the edge, it will begin the wipe timer
Once the Timer is at 0:00 use your super to resurrect
All of the adds on the 1st side of the bridge should be despawned

Then like Rosen said start shooting the enemies on the other side, once you kill the wizards and the ogres you will get the drops, also the bridge will form and you can cross. There is a chest at the end of the hallway once you enter the green door. If you sprint past the shriekers you can make it inside the door before it closes. It can give you Radiant materials or an exotic

Anyone had any experience with No Land Beyond? Just picked it up randomly in the crucible. Seems pretty solid, curious as to whether or not it would be a good substitute since I don't have Ice Breaker

I think it sucks, not leveled up tho,, 12 shots only? And the reload times are horrible, just soloed second section on my Titan got boots, got gauntlets with freak and jeffjim yesterday. Wish I had read this first. Spent hour trying to jump up cliffs, adds went away and I did it from stairs with IB.. One piece away now

I haven't had the opportunity yet to do anything past the first part of the new raid, but you can solo the first two parts?

Have you figured out how to spawn the guys across the bridge? We tried tonight and they wouldn't come out. Finally I jumped across but then knights just kept spawning with no Ogres in sight. Seems like no one knows exactly how to spawn them but it seems that jumping in the back corner helps. This morning, after I jumped around forever, they were out. Later this afternoon, I couldn't get them to spawn and had to jump across and kill everyone from that side. Not as easy as sniping.

Freak and I got the 2nd chest twice. Really, Freak is the man when it comes to that hallway. I died both times and got to watch him take out the 2nd shrieker and dash in before the door closed. We both just got shards/energy.

I used the Method with 5 players on the lower stairs and 1 sniper with ice breaker on the right side killing the boomers from the right side room. Sword holder will have to jump up to crota from the right side rocks every time and use crota as a shield against the boomers on the left.

When the ogres come the sniper on the right just needs to hide, I was hiding on top of the doorways in the room with the crystal when the ogres and thralls start spawning.

Today's hotfix and reset does not appear to address the fact you can solo most of the raid. I did the bridges solo sniping up top after the reset with no problems.

Got my boots, chest, and arms. Just need ~50 more shards for level 32. (Exotic helmet already leveled up)

Yeah. Level up just a bit more and then do the vault of glass raid. Also, if you have the expansion you can do bounties from Eris. It'll be hard to level up without the DLC because you can't do the nightfall/weekly.

Ok, will pick up the DLC tonight then, hadn't got it yet since didn't know how necessary it would be since I'm just getting to the good part of the game

Well man, unfortunately It's a must. Thing is, the new missions/weekly/nightfall/raids are well beyond what you could handle right now. You'll have to level up first. But, if you've got vanguard marks you can purchase armor with 33 light, you have to get a commendation before making a purchase however, you get that from leveling up with the vanguard. So if your close to to leveling up, don't. You'll have work all the way back around to get that commendation.

I'd still recommend doing Vault of Glass, it's almost pointless now as far as gear and weapons are concerned, which is a shame but I'd still advise doing it.

So I do all my raids/strikes by using the Bungie forum, been looking to finally do the raid and it's so pathetic with these people.

"Looking for 31+ only with either IB or Ghorn, must be experienced and have Crota emblem".

That's the typical post. Well, I'm a 31 but I don't have the absurd luck others have had in getting those OP weapons, so I'm practically worthless to these people.

Yea, I don't bother with snobs like that.

I never got a complete set of VOG raid armor despite doing it numerous times. Never got Atheon's Epilogue or Vex Mythoclast. Never got any of the cool raid stuff.

Iron Banner looks mostly worthless this time around. Only a couple guns, but the Auto Rifle is more hrof low impact crap. Not really any different that the tower stuff. I was hoping if they offered an auto rifle it would be in the style of Shadow Price or Grim Citizen.

I did the raid more times than I can count. Got AE and VoC, only weapons I got, got gloves twice and a chest piece that I didn't need because I had an exotic in that slot already.

I don't understand how you solo the raid. You mean the new raid? We struggled with 5 of us trying to do it. I feel like there's no way you don't get overrun with thralls trying to solo.

I've done it the real way. However, it's just quicker and easier to run the stuff alone if friends aren't available.

This will help:

I use an exploding lamp to catapult up to a ledge and walk around the whole stage. Trigger the bridge and kill an Ogre. That's all there is.

The bridge requires some jumping in the right spot or self-reviving at the right time. Then, you just snipe.

The hallway after the bridge can be difficult. But, doable and fairly easy if you have 2 people.

Videos explain and show the techniques. They will be patched eventually, but I'm going to use them now to save time.


Freak and I both got G-horns on the Nightfall tonight. He was giddy. I was happy to avoid upgrading with Xur. It made the grind a little better tonight.

Nightfall gifted me a fusion rifle that does arc damage which would be good if I didn't already have Murmur. Or Plan C. If it did void, I'd be happy.

One of the folks I play with continues to reinforce my belief that some characters just get good drops. He's still pretty new to the game. Only started about 4-5 weeks ago. 3 weeks ago his first time running the VoG raid he got chest armor, Ice Breaker and Hard Light. His second time he got Hezen Vengeance, Atheon's Epilogue and gauntlets.

It's continued after The Dark Below. Last weekend he got Thunderlord and some exotic helmet for his Hunter. I have never gotten a random exotic armor drop just from playing the game. Today he got 3 or 4 legendary engram drops just doing the daily heroic and weekly heroic.

Whatever new awesome Crota's End weapons that are out there, I'm pretty sure he'll end up with them on his first run through.
