Destiny

Nightfall gifted me a fusion rifle that does arc damage which would be good if I didn't already have Murmur. Or Plan C. If it did void, I'd be happy.

One of the folks I play with continues to reinforce my belief that some characters just get good drops. He's still pretty new to the game. Only started about 4-5 weeks ago. 3 weeks ago his first time running the VoG raid he got chest armor, Ice Breaker and Hard Light. His second time he got Hezen Vengeance, Atheon's Epilogue and gauntlets.

It's continued after The Dark Below. Last weekend he got Thunderlord and some exotic helmet for his Hunter. I have never gotten a random exotic armor drop just from playing the game. Today he got 3 or 4 legendary engram drops just doing the daily heroic and weekly heroic.

Whatever new awesome Crota's End weapons that are out there, I'm pretty sure he'll end up with them on his first run through.

This game is all about luck. Some people getting 5 coins for the nightfall, which is 4 less than the weekly, the drops are so bad. I can't count how many times me and a friend of mine have gotten Chatterwhite on VoG.

I played with 5 Australian guys on the VoG, they were clueless and utterly bad at the game, I carried them throughout the whole process and each chest/checkpoint I just hear "oh mate, I got Ghorn" or "I got fatebringer" or "hardlight".

I'm like, I just got energy. Here I am carrying the entire team and getting worthless energy and the guy dying every 2 minutes is pulling Ghorn and fatebringer and armor out like nobodies business.

Yea. I bet we all have stories of getting screwed in the drops with someone that did nothing to contribute because of RNG.

But I'm wondering if somewhere in the code of the game, something makes some people have better RNG than others. I know there's people out there that ran VoG more than me and never got a full set of raid armor. While some get it in 3-4 raids. That's not just good luck in one event. That's good luck in 4 in a row.

There are only a few weapons I really want, I get them and I'll be happy. Mythoclast, Ice Breaker. I have the Truth as a launcher, seems good, not sure what makes Ghorn so much better than it.

Ghorn does more damage, it does bigger initial damage hit and then the addition seeking clusters do huge damage also.

No you're absolutely right, I am the lucky one of my friends. I've gotten 3 exotic bounties, they've all struggled to get one. The other night I got No Land Beyond (exotic sniper) in a random crucible match, and the very next night I got Dragon's Breath for doing the Nightfall.

I'm not complaining, but it's pretty lopsided.

Side note: Dragon's Breath is the business.

I've received 9 coins before doing the NF, the thing is I need shards, every time I do VoG I get energy. Really not complaining but for me to level up I need shards.

All 3 of my characters are 29's, getting close with my hunter to 30. Hopefully tonight.

We ran the new raid last night, got to the Knight, where you have to kill the Sword bearer. We could get his shield down, then the person with relic from the sword bearer would hit him about 3 times. We could get the knight about half way then someone would die, like me lol. It's a restart when someone dies. Pretty tuff, hopefully we can get it tonight.

Only time I've felt lucky on this game was last weeks nightfall, I needed 12 shards to hit 31 and that's exactly what I got for doing it.

I looked it up and I figured the cluster was what put it over the top. Still, you shouldn't have to have it to beat a raid.

I get exotic bounties all the time, just never anything I need/want.

I did this section the day after it came out and we didn't complete it. Going to get it tonight.

Watched a great video of a 2 man team taking him down. They were good.

Saw a comparison video of a guy taking down a boss with each weapon. It took seven shots with thr Truth and only two with the GHorn. Wolfpack makes a huge difference.

I still don't see why it would do so much more damage outside of the explosive mini bursts. What controls how much damage a rocket launcher does?

Don't have a gjallarhorn but Truth's velocity can be upped to the same.

Soloed sections 1 and 2 on my lock. Lamp explosion catapult style, then self Rez to make adds go away.. Couldn't get it to do it again on my Titan . So I have checkpoints at 2 places. I'd really like freak and jeffjim to help me get that 2nd chest. No raid armor for my lock yet

Then they either need to buff Truth or nerf Ghorn, that's absurd, they're both exotics.

If you watch the solo video, you can see the jumps he makes to go up top. If you get to the ledge beside the building (3rd jump) that should spawn them. Try and go all the way.

Make sure you have your agility all the way up in your subclass and max jump (second one) so you can make the jumps. I had to shoulder charge as well to make the ledge.

Cheesed Crota tonight with the disconnect hack. Whatever. I'll beat him when they fix the raid.

I should probably be racking up drops before all the cheesiness gets patched, but I can't get motivated to play this game right now. It may have lost me.

While I am done playing this game because I am sick of grinding.... I must say for all the issues, I had a lot of fun. I played for just about 3 days.

The only thing that's kept me going is being able to play with friends. I can do bounties or the daily by myself but weeklies/nightfall/raid with friends is what I look forward to.

You and your guys want to cheese Crota? I'm pretty sure Freak has a check point. I'll get that from him. If we have a group of 5 or 6, we can pull it off pretty quick. If I start it and disconnect, you guys wont have to wait on me joining back since I've got it already. Just down the next swordbearer and then kill Crota.

I'll be around this afternoon and evening if you want to get the rewards. I'm sure Freak would love to get it on his characters, too.

Is this something I can do at 30? Or does it require some skill?

You can certainly help. It's not difficult, especially if the host disconnecting doesn't have to come back in. All you have to do is clear one room and take down a couple swordbearers. It's not too difficult.

If we can get 4-6 of us and Freak's checkpoint works, we could theoretically do 3 characters in half an hour.
