I thought it was two strikes. Plus weapons and armor.

Point is, I'm supposed to pay the same amount for far less content?

The game is repetitive and that's an absolute understatement, so an extra couple strikes would make a difference.

It's also setting a really bad standard going forward. I'm sure at some point Microsoft is going to shell out extra money for exclusive content/timed content that's going to piss PS4 owners off. I mean the one month hold on CoD DLC was pretty bad but now it's a year. Where does it end?

I haven't done the raid yet, gonna start it tonight with the crew, but the strike takes FOREVER, and I haven't been able to solo it yet on nightfall difficulty. I got the boss to about 10% health and got destroyed by a knight who spawned behind me.

I'm not sure if there are more missions after the strike is completed, but I can tell you it took me about an hour to complete them on level 30 so doesn't seem like a lot of content so far. Obviously the raid will keep us busy for a while and it will be nice to add another strike.

That third mission on level 30 frustrated the hell out of me. Kept getting so close and dying.

I haven't opened the Strike/Nightfall yet. Just did the first 3 missions and had to get back to work.

I think Sto sent me an invite but I totally missed it. Saw it right before I had to turn off my machine.

Found another new strike on Mars, its a lot of fun, since it isn't nightfall it is only lvl 20 but its worth doing

I was able to do the first mission on Hard by myself, the second mission was very difficult on Hard, I died at least 4 times, decided to do it on easy mode, lol, the third mission I did on easy mode also by myself. Had a couple of buddies join me later and we did the second and third missions on Hard, we all are level 29's so hard mode was pretty difficult... did unlock the Hiss 1919 and the MurMur, both can be leveled up to 331 I believe...:hi:

I haven't opened the Strike/nightfall either....

I noticed last night you can go to the (Vanguard), titan, warlock, & hunter to get new gear. I believe to level up to 33 Light....

New stuff will put you at light 31. Raid gear plus new exotic gets you to 32. Each light level is 12 more.

Nightfall is no joke this week. Takes forever.

Freak and I only got shards but you can solo the first chest in the new raid. Build bridge, jump down, and then go left. There's a doorway where a random chest can spawn. If its not there, die and try again. It'll eventually be there.

I was also thinking last night about the quickest way to 31...I'm guessing it's best to wait til Friday to purchase new armor. By then, you should have some commendations (if you have multiple characters). Xur should have exotics. If you buy that, you can then buy the other 3 pieces you need for 31 with your commendations. At that point, just go to town leveling it all up. I just don't see myself having 4 commendations this week or Xur wouldn't matter.

Doesn't look like anyone is going to be 32 for a few weeks.

EDIT: Whoops, I was wrong above. Only Helmets and Chests require commendations. That changes things. Time to start working on 31.

I haven't played the expansion yet. Commendations? Any tips to get off to a quick start? I don't have as much time to play anymore, especially during the holidays. I'll be traveling a lot on the weekends over the next month.

I may be on tonight a little later.

When you rank up the Vanguard (or factions) you get a commendation now. You need that (along with marks/etc) to buy new gear. Another roadblock to slow down progress.

Do the 3 three missions Eris gives you. Then, pick up all 3 bounties she gives you at that point. Then, watch this video and complete those 3 bounties. This will unlock nightfall/strike/weekly. And hopefully along the way you level up and get a commendation from someone.

Another tip: Realize the new content is tough. It's not the cakewalk you've been doing the last month or two through everything. Nightfall is hard again (well, maybe not hard as much as time consuming and forces you to play very conservatively). Enjoy the toughness.

Think the chest will be there if you already completed the first section? Me and a few friends finished the first section then realized there was no chest at the end.(so far that anyone knows of). One watched a youtube video that mentioned a random door in the first part or something.

If you didn't get it previously, it should be there.

Here's a video. You can also go immediately left cross the first bridge and veer a bit right to get to the same door. Takes 20 seconds once you spawn at the start point. Just redo it a few times. May take several tries of dying and trying again.

At least worth a try and 5-10 minutes of your time.

Yea. Watched a YouTube video. Showed up on first attempt. Radiant shards.

I hope I have better luck with drops on this raid than with the vault. 5 of us got the first checkpoint last night and three people got armor. Two got raid gauntlets and one got some gauntlets called ruin wings. Exotic. I got radiant shard.......I really think some characters just get bad rng from the start.

I hit 31 from vanguard and crucible gear, until I get raid gear or upgrade my exotics I'll be using this gear for a while

New gear levels up quick. I went ahead and got the expansion because I'm not interested in any other game right now. Had 200 Vanguard marks, so I bought the gauntlets and boots. Almost at a 30 now. Whereas before I was stuck on 28 because I wasn't lucky enough in the raid drops.

Waiting to do the raid, probably give it a go on Sunday night. Helpfully by then much will be figured out and I an join a group that knows what's up.

Got the SOS during one of the new missions. It's much like Doctor Nope. Low impact/high fire rate. I'd rather just use my AE.

The new raid runs at least level 31. In the 2nd area it was filled with thrall/acolytes/knights at Level 31. Makes me think hard mode will be over the max level cap.

I'm wondering what the Iron Banner will have for sale next week. Tuesday I bought vanguard leg armor and a vanguard helmet for my Titan. Haven't leveled any of the ascendant nodes yet till I know. Waiting to see what Xur sells also.

Did the 3 patrols and the new strike on Cosmodrome. Unlocked the Weekly/Nightfall, but I haven't played those yet... Haven't bought any new gear yet so I'm still a 29 for all 3 characters.... It was a good thing I had a random 30 doing the strike or I wouldn't have made it, also thank you G-horn.

Did the normal VOG last night. I was 31, 4 30s and a 29. It was so easy compared to hard. Templar was cake. Atbeom took 2 teleports. Didn't get anything but shards/energy but it was fun having a relaxing trip through the vault.

So I've been getting ascendent materials for every public event except the last one which completed a bounty. This game is so random.

Did the daily and weekly last night, tried Nightfall and died ALOT, it was very tuff for me and a buddy. Both of us are 29's, got new gear for my warlock, dropped me back to 28, hopefully get to 30 soon.
Also got a drop for my Titan, new gauntlets....
Hopefully Xur will have some good stuff this evening when I get home from work....

I love how we all worked so hard to get level 30 armor, and now we can get some throwaway garbage level 31 armor for nothing just to prep for the new missions. We should be able to go straight from our current level to the new raid. There shouldn't be any BS stepping stones in between just to kill time. I don't want any more filler in future DLC's. Just good content. Strikes and raids.
