Destiny

I would say upgrade to 29 (28 multiplier wont cut it) and then try and get a group to run Hard with. 29s can hold their own with good maxed or nearly maxed weapons. You just have to be a bit more careful and prepared to fire more rounds into stuff than normal. And don't pick up the relic. 30s should carry that.

Not all 30s should carry the relic.

I'm really good with the relic. I've got voc maxed out and an exotic machine gun maxed too. I think I could do it as is.

have atheon checkpoint on normal for my 29 hunter if anybody wants an easy 15 minute run this week. group i was with had to split.. holler or post here we will set up a time this week ps4 StoVol70

Make that two runs in a row without getting anything.

Did they change something in the patch about multiple runs?

I'm assuming you are doing different characters. No drops if using the same character again in the same week.

You're not running the same character after you've finished a run are you?

Sorry I wasn't able to join Wednesday.. Was out of town for 3 days and had to do 3 nightfalls and 3 weeklies

I have but one character. I know I can't get the chests again until the reset but I've ran it multiple times in a week and gotten raid gear on both runs.

Unfortunately, I think you may be mistaken. I never got drops a second time the 2 or 3 times I helped friends after running it.

I swear I've gotten raid drops twice in one week. At least I think so.

Maybe you did it on a Monday then Tuesday or later? Or a Sunday then Tuesday or later?

It resets Tuesday morning I think. Like 3am central or something.

Or if you did normal then hard. You can get certain drops on hard the same week you run it on normal.

That had to be it. Haven't done hard mode, so it had to be doing a Sunday/Wednesday run or something.

I really don't want to invest a bunch of time in a 2nd character, I've broken down all armor so it would take awhile to level up to raid status.

If you do two characters of the same class you can just move your leveled armor over in the vault.

My primary is a Titan. I did a second character(Warlock), and then a 2nd Titan so I could run the raid twice and hopefully get armor to get to level 30.

More vault space would be nice, but with the way Bungie is running the game they may give us more vault space but it will be separate vaults for each character that can't be cross accessed.

I hope none of y'all did any major upgrades to exotic weapons since Monday. If so, you got screwed.

If you do the same type of character, I've found that it takes about 10 hours, give or take a couple.

I thought about not investing into other characters also, now I've have a warlock, titan, and a hunter and all are level 29's, I can't get raid gear that I need to be a 30... So now I try to run the raid 3 times a week for my gear, also run the raid to help friends.... :hi:

Boy Scout's Guide to Being Prepared for The Dark Below : DestinyTheGame

another

Max out Vanguard and Crucible Marks: We know there will be new weapons available for sale in the NPC shops at the tower. It is also very likely these new weapons will have a higher max Attack than the current generation of legendary weapons. Be prepared to buy these on day one by having Vanguard and Crucible marks in reserve.
There is also speculation that the vendors will sell armor with a higher light level. For folks who have not yet made level 30 this will be very attractive.
Save Legendary and Exotic Engrams: There is good reason to believe that the new items from the expansion will be added to the loot pool that engram decoding pulls from. Its unlikely (but possible) that Bungie has a way to differentiate between engrams from pre-DLC release and post-DLC release. This means that the engrams you find now could decode to new items from the DLC after 12/9.
Save Postmaster Packages: Many think the contents of these are decided when you open them. That means that by waiting until 12/9 you could give yourself the possibility of new gear from the DLC dropping in those packages. Also, opening these packages is good for 5,000 XP. Saving as many as possible will help you level up your new weapons and armor more quickly.
Save Upgrade Materials: If there are going to be new weapons and armor then you'll need planetary and ascendant materials to upgrade them. Start saving now. Current legendary weapons might become somewhat obsolete if all of the new legendaries have a higher max attack stat. I would avoid upgrading anything but an exotic weapon or raid legendary right now. The raid weapons are exceptional enough so they'll probably still be worth having leveled to use until you get a chance to snag some of the raid legendaries from Crota's End.
Glimmer: Iron Banner 2.0 was pretty Gimmer intensive. It might be a good idea to bank Glimmer consumables prior to The Dark Below just in case. This one feels like less of a big deal to me. You could always go farm Exclusion Zone if you really needed Glimmer anyway.
TLW: Save your legendary and exotic engrams, vanguard and crucible marks, and upgrade materials until December 9th. Using those things now might be like buying an iPhone the day before Apple is scheduled to announce a new model.

I didn't have anything either. Running through the story to level 20 still only takes about 10 hours.

Then just swap gear between characters.
missed your invite by couple minutes.. ended up finishing normal on hunter, hard on my lock, finally started using the relic a bit, improved from total suckitude to just bad now

All we did was battle the Templar all night. Wasn't all that fun. Didn't beat him with scrubs we had. Oh well.
