that's what i thought too. but as i continue to listen and read, it's starting to sound like they may have had a short list, but nothing firm....there's no telling.

i would like to think though, you don't make this move w/out a solid plan b already pretty much in place.

Let's imagine Shoop's the man. Subsequently, let's see if he gets the usual cast of DeBo type doubters parading around on their nega floats. C'mon Coach Shoop. You're a fit as well as Butch's other choices for UT's football future; IE CMD...so come on down to K-town. Just pay no attention to the brake pumping negavols.

Could be true. The info I got on Friday just eluded that Jancek was out and most likely would land at Colorado State, Martinez was out too and Shoop was a done deal would be announced by the end of this week possibly Monday.

A: We want to be an in-your-face defense that is fun to play. We are built around relentless pursuit and never-ending pressure. Each defense takes on an identity of its own. We are a big zone-blitz team; we have evolved into some man-free and quarter-concepts, things like that. I always talk about three things: A, we are committed to stopping the run; B, we don’t want to allow big plays. C, and we want takeaways. If we do those things, we will be successful.

sometimes i hate the internet, the more i look, the more smoke i see that it's shoop. which is fine with me.

but that's generally the best way to tell that you're going to get smacked in the face with a hire that you never saw coming and will be utterly disappointed with.

it's been 24 hours. lol. time for an announcement already!:)

I didn't hear an announcement day either but heard pretty much the same. I was told Shoop had an offer and it was his job if he wanted it. That was second hand from someone tied to his family. Since then he may have accepted but I haven't heard that either way. You may have that info already.:hi:

Jancek was not a bad coach but I think UT needs better and has the tools to get it. It better be right whoever it is. I think Shoop is a better coach myself.
