Hopefully they are the ones we wanted to keep and we still have a few more moves to make.

Doesn't this job have to stay"open"'or posted for a week because UT is a state employer? If so I don't think you would hear an announcement until next week

Even if it had to be posted for a week I'm sure Butch could tell the new DC to make it obvious in the media what's about to play out. Sooner recruits know, the better.

My guess is that Tennessee has put the offer on the table for Shoop. From what I have read about his current salary and past offers, I would also guess that, the offer is around a million bucks, and now we are waiting to find out if Shoop will take it. Hopefully, he sees some type of other incentive to come here that he didn't see when LSU and Auburn offered him the same amount.

I would be VERY surprised for it to be anyone but Shoop and would be surprised if the announcement came before Monday but if it starts to leak they may want to get ahead of it. Its a done deal imo.

Hubbs is on 990 AM...Thinks Shoop is the top of the list but nothing is done yet in his opinion.

I don't get the mentality of not wanting to hire a coordinator because he is so good that he will get HC offers in a couple of years. Makes much more sense to hire a guy that has little chance of getting said offers down the road.

How many rings does Saban have? How many of his coordinators are HC's now?

My goal in my business has been to train everyone else to be my replacement and good coaches take that same approach. If you are not hiring coordinators that would make good Head Coaches then you are doing it wrong imo.

I'm a Bears fan and the defense was terrible when Mel was the defensive coordinator for them.
