Kid gets carried off on a stretcher and hospitalized. Then, a day later is kicked off the team. It's just bad optics. It's all about perception. Opposing coaches know some 17 year old recruit isnt going to consider team/AD policy. They can spin it as cruel and unusual. "You see what UT does to its own when you make a mistake"? It's not right, but I could see it happening. Negative receuiting is a huge deal for every SEC team.
It doesn't say anything about drugs. It questions the timing and motives of the dismissal.
You have to actually read the article. Also, look at the comments at the bottom. Some are saying it was okay till he couldn't play, then they threw him away.
...if the hospital in College Station released the results of a drug screen to UT without Danny's permission they would be in violation of HIPAA and could face serious consequences.

I don't remember many names on here but yours seems to pop up a lot because of drivel like this. To me you come off as someone desperate for attention and desperate for people to notice and talk to you, good or bad.
Then you see the first sentence where a national news article on CBS sports calls it very interesting timing.
And yes, recruits read comments too.

Weed should be legalized in Tennessee but not 100 percent legal. I mean you shouldn't be able to walk into a restaurant, roll a joint, and start puffin' away. You're should be able to smoke in your home or certain designated places. In fact, it should break down like this. It will be legal to buy it, legal to own it and, if you're the proprietor of a weed bar, legal to sell it. It will be legal to carry it, which doesn't really matter 'cause -- if the cops stop you, it will be illegal for them to search you. Searching you is a right that the cops in Tennessee will not have.
If this was a first or second offense for DO then he would have just been ruled out for bama and no one would have questioned it. That's impossible to do on the third strike with mandatory dismissal
Screw the optics. Team rules are what they are. Want to play? Follow them or be dismissed. Apply rules uniformly and there is no optical or NCAA problem; one standard. This won't affect recruiting one iota.
