Danny O"Brien dismissed from team

DOB is not on the same level as Phelps, Bolt , or Bell. But yeah, it actually did hurt Phelps. He spiraled in to a deep depression and almost killed himself. Luckily, he was able to come back better than ever.

I thought his depression was from getting caught, and the media attention, not the weed. You and Nationdom must be in the twist the story to support my opinion club.

They still giving out kooky red hats, and gaudy ties?

I remember when Tennessee pulled this kid out of Michigan. Everyone was over the moon and couldn't wait for him to get here. Good day to you, sir.

I wish him well and hope he seeks help for his addiction. Having said that we will be fine on the D line we've got guys that can fill in and others who can elevate their game.

I don't remember many names on here but yours seems to pop up a lot because of drivel like this. To me you come off as someone desperate for attention and desperate for people to notice and talk to you, good or bad.

I grew up in Colorado around weed that would knock you and everyone else out in this thread. You guys grow up with this mid grade **** and think everything is fine. It's not and it'll keep getting worse. Once again I've seen the harm his stuff does to many close friends of mine.

Even if it were true that you grew up "around weed that would knock [me] and everyone else out in this thread", that's about the worst it would do, put someone to sleep. You think potent ganja is killing people or making them go on killing sprees or something? Oh no, I sure hope no one out there partakes and gets hungry, happy, and/or sleepy! What would the world come to?!

Tweet from Big Dan

"I take full responsibility. I'm grateful for my teammates, coaches, and Vol nation. It has been and honor to help bring this program back."

He owned it. Just like he's owned his opponents all year. Hate this for him and the team but this makes it easier for everyone.

Not exactly. HIPPAA is related to prescription drugs. Second if he is scholly, I'm guessing they have access to drug tests after injury. In my line of work, if you get injured the first thing that happens at the hospital is a drug test and we know the results.

HIPAA has to do with medical records - all of them - including test results.

Is it just me or didn't he get suspended for weed last year the week against Bama? I can't remember what week but Bama rings in my mind.

Wasn't even about getting caught; it was post-retirement depression.

And his rock bottom point was....wait for it....a DUI. He got help for addiction....to alcohol.

To me, you come off as someone who doesn't know what they are talking about and tries to fit in with what the crowds is doing.

He actually acknowledged the alcohol and weed drove him to the point of wanting to kill himself. So nice try, but you're wrong. My first husband was a pothead. But he was also valedictorian of his high school class and went on to make 6 figures after college. On the flip side, some of his friends still live with their parents, can't hold a job, and will probably never make anything of themselves. It affects each person differently. It doesn't destroy all lives, but it does destroy some. Alcohol is far worse in that respect, because its legal.

Michael Phelps admits he considered suicide amid post-retirement depression | Athletics | Sporting News

Around this time, photos began to emerge across the internet and social media of Phelps smoking marijuana and drinking heavily. He was arrested on two separate occasions for drunk driving. After a run in with police, he spent days wallowing in his bedroom, where he contemplated suicide."

If he hadn't drank and smoked himself in to a haze,he wouldn't have wanted to kill himself.

He should have chosen bama. He could smoke all he wants there. In fact, he could get caught smoking whole in possession of a stole concealed handgun and his coach would defend him. Lol

Yes, if you ignore the depression part. Do you even understand how depression works?

His depression and inability to deal with it LEAD to him trying to escape in alcohol and weed. The depression was the source of the problem, the alcohol and weed were merely symptoms. They are cries for help.

As someone who has suffered from depression, I can tell you do you do a lot of crap to try to numb yourself.

Because it's a dangerous drug and a gateway drug. I grew in Colorado and I've seen what is does to people.

Please please please just do not go down that ignorant road. McDoanld's is a gateway drug then as >95% of heroin users have consumed McDonald's food. I am in the West on the regular and Colorado is not ruined, far from it, Denver is and has been booming, just stop it.
