Da Reds thread

It is just like our Vols with the Reds. Win enough to placate the fans and keep the optimism up so the dollars keep rolling in. Dusty gives them enough wins to sell the tickets, concessions and gear. You don't have to commit to excellence to make money that way. But it is a shame. The window is closing and with not even a playoff series win to show for it because they employ an incompetent "players" coach. Which sends the message to the players that they don't have to sell out - Dusty will take care of them.

So if you had not seen the results of the game and you were told a Red knocked in 4 runs to lead them to a win, how many people would name Cozart in their first 3 guesses?

I knew losing the stros to the AL would hurt our W/L record. They are the gift that keeps on giving.

Votto = definition of overrated and overpaid.

Wonder how many folks are Billy Hamilton doubters today? Know it was just against the stros, but that performance was simply outstanding. And hopefully we get to see it hundreds of times over the years. Never, ever seen a player get that many steps in before the catchers gets the ball without taking a walking lead. Dude is a bullet. Was fun to watch him in AA, is wonderful to watch him to do his thing on this stage.

no. the definition of overrated and overpaid is, like, Soriano. Zito. Not players that are top 10-15 in the ****in game and top 5ish offensively. Holy cow.

lol'd again

The Rats are clearly on their game tonight, while the Reds have their usual if this is Friday we must be in Pittsburgh look.

Hurdle had fun with that. He was not leaving without getting tossed to give the fans what they wanted.

Votto is embarrassing. I still cannot stomach that $20+ mill per year price tag. Frazier with his $500 K a year has as many RBI's and plays better D. Doesn't have the OBP, but so what with Hamilton on his way to CF next season. Trade him and sign a couple of really strong players with that $19.5 mill left over.

Todd Frazier: .236/.314/.397 (.711 OPS[48th in NL])
Joey Votto: .307/.433(leading the NL)/.495 (.928 OPS[3rd in NL])

lllllllooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll

this is awesome. awesome.

.236 average vs. .307 average but yeah, it's just the pesky fancy OBP.

"doesn't have the OBP but that doesn't matter because Billy Hamilton and his .308 OBP at AAA will make Votto completely redundant"

But Votto costs money.
