even if it’s talent, that’s still the coaches responsibility.

Obviously we’re getting a new DC but it’s more than just schemes we need some better coaching.

And on offense we clearly had better talent than we expected this year, CJP or Halzle needs some killer instinct.

Halzle was actually impressive tonight. We actually ran the ball in the 2nd half and stuck with it. We just left too much time on the clock.!

Well he lost his starting quarterback in the spring and lost his best two cornerbacks on defense. These things matter.

Losing the two starting db’s have absolutely nothing to do with not being able to tackle or consistently getting pushed off the line or horrendous linebacker and safety play

Tennessee is more talented than Illinois and lost anyways. Primarily coaching in my opinion

Did the coaches step on the left guards ankle, miss a very makeble fg in the first half, or jump offsides on 3rd and 6 late ensuring we would not get the offense back on the field?

With that said the coaches didn't lose the game tonight but it's painfully obvious coach Knowles has got to teach assignment, technique to include how to tackle in the open field and stop running yourselves out of the play on defense.

Objectively the defense needs a lot of work and I think the decencies on the defensive side of the ball and a couple of ill timed missed FG are the difference between a 2 -3 loss season and a 5 loss season.

Coaches are 100% responsible for discipline. Jumping offsides is a discipline issue. Heupel recruited and stuck with Gilbert. He could’ve signed anyone else.

Mostly coaching. I however won’t discount the fact that losing an All American CB and all SEC caliber corner didn’t hurt us.

We had better swing big on a portal QB and about 10-15 defensive guys or get another QB somewhere and hand it to Faizon. We absolutely need 3-4 defensive tackles, 2-3 safeties as well as corners.

No, but running that kickoff back was the knife in our back.

It is what it is at this point. The game is basically ruined anyway.
I got to live through the good years of college football. Wasn’t perfect but players didn’t “opt out”! Hacksaw Reynolds played hurt and bloody, Al Wilson played with a dislocated shoulder,Peyton played a full four years, players would give their left nut to play every game every play. Andy Kelly was tough as nails and didn’t opt out.Opt out means you quit on your school and you quit on the fans that give the players their all!! Being afraid cause you might get hurt is a risk to take for your team, your fans.
This generation is a group of whiners. Just afraid!
