CJP compares program to Titanic

I honest to God think the issue is that Pruitt would like 50% of the roster gone because he hates their effort and the fact that they are seniors and juniors who are still playing like freshmen because they haven't been developed and arent coachable. He is at very least trying to get the bad attitudes out, but he has said some things recently that make me think he is only keeping some guys around because he has to put a team on the field. I truly believe if we give this guy time he WILL get it right. May not be this year. But he will.

I'm starting to think some of you have never read a book. I don't mean a picture book; I mean an actual novel. How can this analogy be so difficult for you?

The program has been sinking for at least 15 years and people are upset about this? At least it distracts from the bad football... :/

He DID NOT compare TN program to the Titanic, he referenced this scene in the movie comparing the rats
to some of the kids leaving our program!

Of course when you are a coach on a losing streak.....NEVER EVER bring up the Titanic!!!

.
Can you imagine being the parents of one of those kids and just having the HC calling your son a Rat? lol

Are you implying that eight times in the red zone with only one touchdown is in some way a positive or sign for hope? Am I understanding you right?

It is actually one of the greatest indictments of all.
No, played well between the 20s, better execution/play calling n the RZ and it’s a blowout, 34-13 or worse.

Agreed.

Apparently there's not many WWII history buffs in the fanbase.
No, we just have a section of our fan base that actually shuts off any portion of their brain that actually functions in a logical, intelligent manner. Trying to use an analogy that is intelligent will completely alienate that portion.

The BYU wouldn’t have been so awful if not for GA State. People are down on the coaching staff I get it. And rightly so for the GA State game, for the BYU game the team showed a lot of effort, the calls were fine, we just simply didn’t execute from the QB position.

Pruitt plays JG so sure that’s on him but who knows at this point if we have better behind him. The fourth down attempts instead of FGs could be questioned but hell I liked the calls at the time; we scored a TD on a fourth down conversion.

I figured BYU would be a tough game because of their experience, etc on the LOS. They are as good as some SEC teams on the LOS, but there are no excuses for being 0-2.

Or maybe the best option just isn't very good?

That may well be, but a lot of people all across the spectrum of jobs perform better when under pressure or in the heat of things. We'll never know about the alternatives if they don't play in games. Pruitt sounds a lot like those coaches who believe only what they see on the practice field.

You missed the point. He said as the ship sank you saw all the rats come to the top and expose them self and during a coaching change the same will happen and during this year you will see the rats and only the best players and ones with the correct attitude will play.
At least the rats know how to survive the longest.

I don’t disagree.....now that I’ve calmed down after the BYU loss. I think Pruitt knows what he wants and I think he knows what “good” looks like with being DC at FSU, UGA, and Bama. I think he knows we are not even close to what he’s seen at other places that have powerhouse teams (minus FSU now). I think he’s recruiting the right people....the only problem is how do you keep the bad apples from rubbing off on the good ones. It’s not like we maybe only have 1 or 2 bad apples....I think it’s prob well over 25% of the team. That’s where I think he’s struggling. Maybe he can keep making progress each week...or maybe not. The big thing that bothers me is this is basically the same team that walked into Jordan Hare stadium and beat Auburn and beat Kentucky when they were on fire last year. But then again we finished the season with Candy and Mizzou stomping a mud hole in us and walking it dry. Beats the heck outta me.
