CJP compares program to Titanic

You missed the point. He said as the ship sank you saw all the rats come to the top and expose them self and during a coaching change the same will happen and during this year you will see the rats and only the best players and ones with the correct attitude will play.
This was was what he was alluding to but I think metaphor of the program being a sinking ship is more fitting. One has to laugh that a coach in his situation would make a Titanic comparison to anything.

Is Pruitt doing 40 Knotts in ice burg infested waters at night with no radar?

Let's see, our OL were Jack (scrawny when Pruitt showed up)
Pruitt is the captain (going down with the ship)
Hamilton is the iceberg (Did fatal damage to program)
Butch Jones is Celine Dion (My "5 star heart" Will go On)
Derek Dooley is the guy who rearranged the chairs
Lane Kiffin is the loudmouth who said the Titanic was unsinkable
Greg Schiano is Rose's fiancé who everyone was glad got what was coming to him
JG is the actual ship (Can't move and stuck to the ocean floor)

Very good. I was just thinking about Hamilton as the iceberg. You did it a lot better.

If Pruitt were older maybe he would have remembered the The Poseidon Adventure where a group fought like heck to survive ... and see the morning after. The message was that adversity exposes both the best and the worst.

Great analogy....why can't we have a team of Shelley Winters?

I'm sure Pruitt was completely honest about wanting to be a head coach in the SEC. That is until he came to Rocky Top and saw that the house had burned down long before his arrival. He probably wishes he was back in Bammer.

Until we stop hiring unproven coaches "who once held Saban's clipboard" this Greek tragedy will continue to play out coach after coach.

UT football is dead until further notice. You can't recruit with an apathetic fan base (coming soon), a clueless young coach, and a weekly **** show on the field.

So, everyone ok with him calling TN players rats? I’m sure they appreciated it. Not the best analogy there JP, maybe play it in your head before speaking it.

If you close your eyes and hear this quote without the southern draw, you hear the incarnation of Butch Jones.

The BYU wouldn’t have been so awful if not for GA State. People are down on the coaching staff I get it. And rightly so for the GA State game, for the BYU game the team showed a lot of effort, the calls were fine, we just simply didn’t execute from the QB position.

Pruitt plays JG so sure that’s on him but who knows at this point if we have better behind him. The fourth down attempts instead of FGs could be questioned but hell I liked the calls at the time; we scored a TD on a fourth down conversion.
The byu game would have been worse if we handled ga st, cause expectations would have went crazy. I only saw the first quarter, so I cant really comment on performance other than we didnt win. At halftime of the ga st game, another qb should have played, just to see what we have.

Played well at times, actually very well. If they finished drives, it’s a blowout. 8 times in the RZ with one TD.

We've hired several unproven coaches from assistant ranks over the years. Neyland, Dickey, and Fulmer are examples of successes. Johnny Majors was a proven commodity with a National Championship to his credits, by today's standards he'd have been fired well before his Tennessee teams found success. A lot of "proven coaches" don't work well in the next job ... Majors and Dickey; and I don't think you'll find a HC anywhere that didn't make the transition from the assistant or coordinator ranks.
