I agree with you that he was one of the best ever. He could turn the corner like few ever will. I remember when he was a freshman....he turned the corner and took it the distance and John Ward was like "Oh Man!!!"
I'm not educated too much on Chuck Webb. I'm too young to remember him well, but as far as running backs go Jamal Lewis was a beast.
Still one of the only guys I saw run that defensive players were about afriad to try to go low on him and if they went high he would make them look like a crash test dummy. I think he was voted the hardest player to tackle by NFL players when he was in his heyday with the Ravens.
Jamal Lewis= Total Beast, and just to think FSU wanted him as a FB.
I guess you never saw much of Webb did you?
Jamal Lewis could easily be a NFL and college fooball Hall of Famer. I don't even know what Webb went on to do, but I know he wasn't rushing for nearly 1,400 yards as a freshman, running a 4.4 forty at 240lbs, and breaking the NFL's single season rushing record.
