The fact that Calley was a member of the officer corps shows how quickly the management destroyed the pre war army, which in 1965 might've been the best one we've ever fielded. Guy was/is a buffoon.

When the average Pakistani or Afghani lives the life of a peasant dirt farmer I'd say $50 mill isn't paltry. How much do you have in your bank account?

I think you are just arguing to argue, and forgot what the point is.

The point is that $500B is a much bigger incentive than $50M.

I agree..... That's the point I'm trying to make. If $50 million wouldn't do it why would $500b? Money doesn't mean squat to them

Cause $50M isn't squat compared to $500B. It's 10,000x as much money. It's enough to incentivize Pakistan's government to turn their country upside down, looking for him. It's more than twice their GDP.

My point is there were individuals that knew where he was ......fifty million for one freaking person is a huge incentive. We already give their good for nothing government billions each year..... And for what? They gladly take the money and then look the other way

Considering how much financial aid we've given those rat bastards over the years they should have willingly let us know his whereabouts..... But they don't give a damn about the USA.... They just want the cash.... I say we should have cut them off if they weren't willing to cooperate instead of giving them a ridiculous $500b

My personal opinion is this guy is a piece of *hit

Didn't realize that fat POS was still alive...

You insisted in the $500b number. For that amount, UBL would have turned himself in, given the credit to a lieutenant, he would be alive, and AQ would have an Air Force. Don't be stupid.

Well... since we're talking about 500 billion, let's throw out that it's still ten times cheaper than what the war on terror wound up costing.

No. My point remains. $500b was a number. You need to get past it.

So you and Nancy would throw $500b at AQ to get UBL. How did getting UBL stop the war on terror? It didn't. Ergo defending Nancy for wanting to throw an exceptional large "number" at getting UBL is stupid. Quicker you can accept the fact we can get past it.

I read his book and am kind of dumbfounded at some of the comments I have read.

Just saw the movie tonight. Good movie but very condensed. Focused more on the man than his accomplishments.

You realize the # was considered an absurd # to start with right? That it was just used to get the point across. And if you think it would just be a simple handing over of money, you're dumber than I realized
