Chris Kyle: American hero or

Marque and Reprisal was fine when nations attacked nations, but how are you going to do that when these are stateless criminals, hiding in sympathetic countries?

Bounties. Doesn't matter what kind enemy they are, set the price high enough and someone will sell them out. And they really, really have to hide, so it makes it harder for them to operate as well.

Even if we put an absurd amount (like $500B) on the head of Osama we would have saved a lot of money and lives, and probably wouldn't have had to wait a decade for justice.

I guess a paltry $50 million wasn't enough.....that's what you guys can't seem to grasp. The radicals aren't motivated by money......or diplomacy or anything else that's rational.

I dunno, he had a pretty good protection agency.

$50M is not $500B. Do you know what the difference is? $50M is what A Rod makes in 2 years. $500B will get countries out of debt. $500B could make everyone in a metropolis a millionaire.

$50M is paltry.

Personally, as a vet, I actually despise the phrase "American hero". Toby Keith made me sick of "service worship".

This guy did his job, which was killing a lot of hajis. Which he apparently exaggerated. Whatever. What makes him an even more respectable person is his outreach to vets suffering from PTSD.

Just my take.

Sorry you don't like the term. However, many of us who didn't serve consider those who are in or have seen combat Heroes.

Kind of odd some of you especially prior military types (like myself) would classify him as just doing his job. I didn't get two silver stars and 5 bronze stars (for valor) by just doing my job. Exaggerated? How do you exaggerate 2 silver stars?

Wow Sand! You too sir are a hero. Thank you for your service. No sarcasm here.

Ironically enough, women tend to make very good snipers due to having a higher (on average compared to men) patience and ability to empathize with their target to better understand and wait for the perfect shot.

Their downfall is that bb bladder.

I think it's clear that some of us just don't participate in the hero worship of soldiers or cops simply because they run the risk of getting shot at. I respect what they do and I do understand that in war you have to make quick, tough decisions. But I don't believe he is impervious to criticism because of his job, I don't think anyone is.

The fact that you connect the two is a big part of your problem.

No, I think it is you who needs to sign up.

After watching the movie, it just reassures me that my opinion and stance on the this man and those others in uniform is the correct one.

No, you need to go sign up, man!

We done, or do you want to address what I actually said?

You haven't said anything. you have however shown disrespect.

Any disrespect has been fabricated by your own mind. What have I said that was disrespectful? That soldiers aren't above reproach? Guess what, soldiers in this very thread have said the same thing. If you consider that to be disrespectful, I guess you'd be throwing a coming home party for the My Lai massacre crew.

Seriously, point out one thing I've said that was disrepectful. I'll give you a cookie.
