Carolina Panthers

Strong defense and a solid running game. That recipe can get you very far (Seahawks last 2 seasons). I think this RB stable is underrated and the potential is there to have a very stout defense. The question is going to be the passing game, and unfortunately, Cam is going to have to spread it out to more guys with Kelvin's injury. It's up to the young guns to step up, mainly Funchess and Philly Brown.

i hope you're right. but Stewart hasn't had a fully healthy season in a while. and FW and Artis-Payne and whoever else is back there, just, imo, aren't every down backs.

throw in an offensive line that has issues. ugh.

here's what i see...if i'm game planning againts us, our top WR is out, so you take Greg Olsen out, and load up to stop the run ane make Cam and those other WR's beat you.

to me, the formula for stopping our offense just got a lot simpler. adn i don't see shula outsmarting anyone, and i just don't believe, w/exception of Cam, that we have enough skill to just "beat" good NFL defenses.

until proven otherwise, it's CAm and Greg Olsen. I don't trust anyone else on that offense, from a skill position standpoint.

man this sucks. i was so pumped up for this season.

David Newton over at ESPN.com says it's a long shot for Wegher to make the team, which is probably accurate, but I really like what's he's brought to the table so far.

we should get a good dose of reality tonight........the silver lining, we get to go against one of the better teams in the league, and 1's on 1's, they'll have some good film study to see where we're really at.

If everyone stays healthy tonight, I will consider it a win.
I'd like to see some good production out of the first team offense, but mainly I'm just hoping nobody else gets hurt.

Shaq Thompson out there making plays. Defense has looked pretty good. Offense....not so much, but better on their last drive.

It's like regular season Panthers football!

I thought the defense was great. But their reward? 2 fg's and a / pt deficit at the half.

I think cam played well but the wr's are gonna have to help him out. Awful drops on some good throws.

Still pessimistic. But our D is nasty . We'll probably have a lot of 17-13 type games. Some we'll win , some we won't.

I think Fozzy made it over Todman. Wegher isn't really the same as those guys. Surely we will see Ginn on KR too, right?

Fozzy was always making the team. But yeah, Ginn should be involved as a returner, especially if he's behind Philly Brown on the WR depth chart.

My only worry about putting Ginn on KR is overexposing him to possibility of injury. Need him to be productive at WR and he's BY FAR the best PR on the team. Too valuable to put back on every kickoff. JMO.

Yeah, don't feel too bad for Cam. At least we will have a better offensive line this year. Matsko seems to be getting a lot out of Oher. Norwell and Remmers are playing surprisingly well, too.
Philly Brown is back and he can play, unlike his evil twin Corey. Give Funchess a few weeks and he'll be in ther emaking plays.

i can't help it. i think KB going down is huge. i have zero confidence in a rookie, philly and TGjr. Jstew is an injury waiting to happen. and Cap is a rookie.

i think our offense is going to be easy to game plan against, and the whole offense will be on Cam's back. load up and stop the run, and let's see if TGjr and co can beat us down field. not exactly a recipe for super bowl run. and is Mike Shula going to gameplan us and scheme us to something more? basically i'm just pissed off. i had really high hopes for this season, and i hate to say it, but KB was that important to this offense. w/out him, there's a lot less to account for.

i mean really, what offensively do we have that should scare the pants off opposing defenses? besides Cam runnin and Olesen?

hate to be a negative nancy here, but i can't see the silver lining.

the defense is great. and they'll keep us in games. but i think we're going to probably lose a lot of 17-13 type games.

hope i'm wrong.

This team is going to run the ball. A healthy Cam, a healthy Tolbert (look at record last season with/without him) and then Stewart and Co. should make for a formidable three-pronged running game.

The defense alone makes them the best team in the NFC South.

How is this any different from 2013? I don't think the Panthers are going 12-4 again, but I don't think they're doomed either.
