i am less worried about losing him then the message of him leaving sends other current players or future prospective players.
Didn't say that. I didn't even say that he WAS better than Brown. I said he demonstrated more SEC level skills- cutting, vision, power, burst, etc. than Brown. I never saw BB see a hole, plant his foot, and explode through it.umm the eval you provided (see below). Poole was also playing against the scrubs but you're right he could have been better than Hardesty based on those 15yds.
It is as much what Brown didn't do... against any of the competition as what Poole and Oku did.saying BB wasn't strong against average D's is understandable (I don't agree). However claiming Poole and Oku have the skills he doesn't is crazy. They never played against the same strength D
and returning kicks has nothing to do with being a RB
i dont hope him the best i hope he never plays again and aftwr he sits out a year he will have to battle for pt and he may start his senior year, and honestly the things i have heard about pooke and the other backs we have im not sure he would even start if he stayed so good ridance
I would rather lose him than any offensive lineman at this point. Have we lost enough players in 2 years to form a new team? This getting rid of Phil is really working out well. Isn't it?
I am looking for an 8 and 5 season 2 years after we got a new coach. I so love "change".
What chance did he deserve?
Thank you. I'm tired of this mentality that people have of "wanting to be at UT" somehow trumps talent on the field or with our coaching staff. You win by having better personnel than the other team.Fine. You recruit the middle of the pack players you speak of, then I'll recruit elite talent the way USC, Florida, and Alabama do, and I'll beat your team by 40.
i hate to jump in here and normally sjt18 and i don't see eye to eye.
but, i never saw "special" with regard to bryce brown either. to me, he appears to be a guy.
and running back is a position, where you can see "special" in a player almost immediately.
they may fumble too much, not block well, whatever. but, when the ball is in their hands you can see the talent. you don't have to wait a couple of years to see it.
i think brown is or will be a good player. a "special" player. i don't think so.
Not unless you count... cutting, seeing running lanes, acceleration, breaking arm tackles, reading blocks,... If you include none of those things then you are absolutely right.
