Bryce Brown Gone

As I said earlier, Neal was a nice addition. However, we were in the running for guys like Seastrunk, Dyer & Lattimore. Brown being on the roster likely didn't help us with any of them.

For the most part, you are wrong here. If I remember correctly each of those backs listed Kiffin and Co as the reasons they chose not to come. Recruiting violations scared most off. Seatrunk went to Oregon where he happens to be running behind LaMichael James. I would choose BB as competition over a proven runner anyday. SO obviously all of your observations about Bryce Brown being the reason are off the mark.

People forget that he was injured in the preseason and played hurt all year.
The more I see that line the less I buy it. There's no good reason to play BB with Poole and Oku around if he wasn't ready to go. I know he did have a hip injury but even he said it was something he'd dealt with for awhile.

If his hip was keeping him from seeing holes and cutbacks and causing him to run up blockers backs then he just didn't need to be playing.
I was at alot of the practices last season, BB when healthy is every bit as good as Hardesty and that was as a freshman. If you think this isn't a big loss then you need to have your head examined.

I think it is potentially a considerable loss... but regardless of what you saw in practice, Brown wasn't close to being as good as Hardesty when the lights came on.... at no point in the season.

Some of you people sound an awful lot like chicken little :)

The sky is not falling folks! What did BB ever do on a collegiate football field to make you think this is the end of the world?

If he works out his problems and stays, fine. If he packs his bags and leaves, fine. We have lost running backs before. No big deal.

Chill-lax peeps

Go Big Orange!!!

IMO, just a small bump in the road. UT has always had depth at RB, so this just gives Oku & Poole the opportunity to step up. Others too. If he turns out to be great elsewhere...oh well. Doesn't really hurt us as long as he's not on the other side of the field. These things happen. Suck it up and move on.

Tennessee Volunteer football was here before Bryce Brown and will certainly be here when he leaves....

Cons:
-tough loss because of his potential
-give outsiders persona of why is he leaving and ammo in recruiting for now

Pros:
-he isn't an offensive lineman
-still stacked depth wise at that position
- Poole and Oku compliment each other very well
-Dooley and Chaney love Neal
-Williams could be a beast when healthy
-it is not hard to recruit RBs especially at TN

Regardless of how good he is or might be, Bryce should be a man and stick with the commitment he made to the University of Tennessee.

I'm not too worried about it. Obviously I don't like to see a talented player leave the team, but we've got 4 more guys on roster who'd love to be the starter at the university of Tennessee.

SEC football, if your not Jeff Demps, you better be able to break tackles.

1. College Football in general not just the SEC and 2. He was hurt pretty much all year so i think he has enough speed to get around them, or strong enough to break their tackles but we'll never know.

We have hundreds of Tennessee high school players who would love the same thing, but that doesn't mean they would help us the way Bryce Brown would...
