Bryce Brown Gone

i hate to jump in here and normally sjt18 and i don't see eye to eye.

but, i never saw "special" with regard to bryce brown either. to me, he appears to be a guy.

and running back is a position, where you can see "special" in a player almost immediately.

they may fumble too much, not block well, whatever. but, when the ball is in their hands you can see the talent. you don't have to wait a couple of years to see it.

i think brown is or will be a good player. a "special" player. i don't think so.

In about 5 years when he's doing great things in the League, maybe you guys will have time to reconsider BB and his frosh year at UT.

Oh well he gave it a try and it didn't work out. Can't wait to see what Toney Williams has! This just opens the door up for others... Don't let the door hot you in the ass as you leave Bryce.

this coaching staff just lost the number 1 recruit from last years class, talking about using tight ends rather than star WR's look for some defections there as well. DD is going to take this program even further into the abyss. I hope the demise causes MH and DD to be one and done. This staff is so devoid of star talent and name recognition that these kids look for it is going to head us down a long steep winding road until we run off the cliff. Say what you will but DD and staff couldn't carry Kiffin and staff's jock strap recruiting. Bad, bad news.

And what did Poole do against good competition?

He got very limited opportunities however he rushed twice for 8 yards vs UGA and 3 times for 15 vs VT. He had the highest per carry avg vs WKU.

Vs VT, Hardesty who I've always liked had 39 yards on 18 carries. Poole had 15 on 3 carries. His carries were in the 3rd qtr when the score was 24-14 and the outcome was still in question. Kiffin never gave him the ball again.

Hardesty's season pretty much makes your post useless.

And gators evaluating RB's? :eek:lol:

Dooley is horrible for the program and going to set us back even farther. Wtf is he doing? And wtf is this 2 and 3 te every play bs? Say hello to another 3 or more years of middle of the pack play.

I'm surprised you even include Vol in your name...I've never seen you post a positive message about the Vols on here.

Even if Richardson is a better player, it really has nothing to do with Brown's talent.

Exactly. I love how people think a .500 program can lose one of its few elite talents and just brush it off like it's no big deal. Is it really going to take a 4-8 season for them to get it?

I'm pretty sure that CDD was referring to using extra TE's for run blocking as opposed to full backs. Not to replace WR's. Cutcliffe used this formation during Ainge's senior season.

Seriously. It's one thing to be optimistic. Right now, people are just putting blinders on.

That's funny. The score ended up 63-7.

well thats nice, i come on here to see how practice went, only to find we lost one of our best offensive weapons.

If we do go 4-8, it won't be because Bryce Brown isn't on the team.

Just for sake of understanding your point..name a couple RBs you've seen in the past that you knew would be "special".

it's real easy.

as a fan, when you see them play (and they play for the other team) you get nervous whenever they touch the ball and pray for someone to make the tackle.

those kind of guys are usually noticeable as freshman.

someone mentioned hardesty. i always thought hardesty was better than foster, but foster started for whatever reason.

Don't blame Dooley, blame the Avascular necrosis, blame B.Brown's handler/spritual leader/agent/puppet master, blame Lacey Pearl.

and you just keep backpedaling on the Poole thing. You claim you never said he was better but that he was actually an SEC level back while you never saw that from BB? Give me a break.
I'm not back pedaling on anything. I have not seen enough of Poole to say he's better than Brown conclusively. I have seen enough of Brown to say he's shown nothing special yet. In limited opportunities, Poole showed better vision, better cutting ability, better acceleration through holes, better tackle breaking ability,...

I haven't seen him do it enough to call him the better back but on those basic skills he's shown me more with his limited opportunities.

Poole and Oku did nothing against any type of decent D that would make anyone think they can carry a full time load.

Neither did Brown. Poole showed flashes against VT because that's all his touches allowed. Brown really didn't even show me flashes. I saw a big talented kid who mostly ran up guys' backs and was easily tripped between the tackles.

If that's a sign of greatness to you then I'm not sure what to say to you.

Does it bother anyone else that 1.) CDD talked to BB on several occasions and had no inkling about this happening? 2.) CDD apparently doesn't remember talking to Brandon Warren and his family about returning to the team? 3.) CDD let the whole " former players aren't allowed at workouts/Berry" saga get out of hand?

Brown's first season was better than any of Hardesty first three.
