Good point. Not sure I understand all the love for Poole on this board other then being the starter coming out of spring.

Does Poole run a 4.3 40? Brown does. IMO once Brown got healthy, he would be running away from people, rare speed for a back that size.

Brown may be a more skilled running back but at the present time if you put Brown vs Poole ... its Poole. OK Browns faster, I still don't think he has the heart that Poole has.

if its 3rd down & 3 yards to go, on a tie braking drive I give it to Poole & believe we get the first down. Just my opinion :good!:

I don't think we saw a healthy Brown's speed last season. He was bothered by a hip pointer all season.

I was in Publix yesterday, and as Bryce Brown was helping bag my groceries, he promised me he ran a 4.3 back when he was healthy enough to see the field.

He then took a break, and went over to the side, and sat down and watched as the other baggers bagged. He was wearing a Publix hoodie and cheering them on. Bryce Brown is the man!

IIRC, this was about his best confirmed time at a camp as a recruit... making him a little faster than Knowshon Moreno.

I also seem to remember BB's reliable times being in the 4.4-4.5 range with the lower one being a hand-timed, private time.

I take some solace concerning Poole's speed from the fact that he has run away from UT's DB's in practice. UT DOES have SEC level speed in their defensive backfield. There may be some merit to the idea of being "football fast".

Last year Poole definitely looked quicker in pads than Brown did... by a wide, wide margin.

Brown would have been sick for us...we just need to accept that.

I wish he would stay....I really wanted to see what he could have done here.

This, from what little I saw of Poole!! He seemed to hit holes quicker, quicker lateral movement, and more break away speed. Poole may not have the power to run over people like BB, but he seemed to be more elusive!!

Bryce Brown said he was going to evaluate the coaching staff after spring practice. How long is this evaluation taking? Hopefully, he makes a decision soon.

Rumor on the "Street" is BB is coming back start of June. Heard it from my buddy in Talahasee, how he knows anything is beyond me. But he knows his stuff 99% of the time.

Take it for what it's worth...which is nothing JMO.

I've heard he's coming back, but will not schedule his presser until late to keep the media guessing.
