I wonder what the locker room thinks of that, will he also skip summer conditioning? He better be in football shape IF he does come back or Poole will leave him in the dust.

The guys will welcome him back, but it will be the coaches that are the toughest on him. Start him at the bottom, make him work his way up. And for a RB of his caliber, that wont be hard to do.

GBO!

i think poole beats him out regardless, but i think he will make a great back his junior year, and would still get carries this year as well.

if he's scheduling a press conference to decide where he's playing next year then he can take a hike. "Keeping the media guessing" makes absolutely no sense. No way can i believe that.

He wouldn't do that. The only presser would be by CDD to tell everyone the reports on the team, and would add in the bit on BB.

BB will beat out Poole if given the opportunity. However, Poole is really good as well!

Hyams just said he is 50/50 on Brown returning to Tennessee. He said that Bryce's dad isn't as adamant about him transferring to play closer to home.

Interesting.

Doesn't matter. Poole will start anyway. Brown wasnt impressive last year and after his antics this summer he will have to work for every snap.

I just lost a little respect for you admitting to listening to moron talk. :)

I hear Hyams is reporting we may have a shot a landing a 5* RB recruit out of Kansas named Bryce Brown. Says he is supposed to be pretty good.

I ran into Jimmy at Long's yesterday and he told me in confidence that he will be taking over for Mike Keith because he's going to take a job with the Titans. He is supposed to announce it at the sports fix at six. (sorry Jimmy...I can't keep a secret.)

My view on the situation was that even if Poole was "better" than Brown last year, the way it played out was how it should have happened to further the program. If Poole was marginally better, but Brown got more play because he was the #1 player, then it can be seen as trusting younger blue chippers with playing time, which would entice more of them to look at Tennessee.

I would not go as far to say that. Although Poole looks very solid right now Bryce does have more talent and should be healthy. Even if he comes back late and they make him start from the bottom his talent alone will shoot him to the top with poole. It would be interesting to see who is better. Dooley will not descriminate......

Says who? Rivals? Lane Kiffin?

From what I've read Poole has outplayed Brown every chance he's gotten and if our previous head coach wasn't dead set on keeping a promise that landed us the #1 highschool player then Poole would have been #2 last year...

What's more important...physical talent or actual production?

This is a sticky situation, but if his Dad has been pulling the strings all along (from what I've heard and stated this is obviously the case) and Bryce really wants to be here, it will make this a better football team. Now...I wonder if he can snap the ball and block...

If Brown was leaving, wouldn't we be hearing some stuff right now? I was under the impression that he was just going to finish the semester to keep his grades in tact. The semester is over. If he was dead set on returning to Kansas, we would have heard something. This is probably the same logic Hyams is using.
