By him sitting out spring practice, there is no way in hell I would just GIVE Bryce a spot back on this team! If he really wants to stay, here are the stipulations I would enforce with Bryce...
1.) I would immediately revoke his scholarship and move him to "walk on" status.
2.) I would start him at the absolute bottom of the depth chart, playing with the scout team.
3.) I would make him earn his way back to the #1 tail back status through performance in practice.
4.) I would evaluate his overall performance at the end of the season and decide whether or not he has once again earned a scholarship on this team. If he has, his scholarship would be reinstated with the condition that he would be on probation for the remainder of his career at Tennessee. If he steps out of line off the field or even attempts to pull another pri-madonna stunt like he has this year, he's gone.
Now I know these stipulations are ridiculous and no player would agree to it. My point is that no one player is bigger than the program. This is a message that has to be sent to not just Bryce but to every player on the team! If you ask me, Bryce needs to go. He may very well be a good kid. However our program doesn't need players who, once they've committed to a UNIVERSITY (not a coach), up and decide they've earned the right not to participate in spring practice and not be a part of the team when they feel like it.
