I was a huge UNC fan until I transferred to UT. Even then I loved the Tarheels in 🏀. I recall as a kid find to my rec basketball game on a Sat morning then coming home to watch Jordan and the Heels play Sampson. Ralph was dominant but UVA underachieved w him. He had bad knees so his NBA career wasn’t stellar. Last I heard he was living in VA and had major financial issues.

Great basketball 🏀 in the 80s.
I loved the NC State 30 for 30. How the crap that team won the conference tournament with UNC and UVA lurking and then took down Phi Slamma Jamma I’ll never know. Helluva run and it included great comebacks with no shot clock!

st bonaventure-davidson game tonight could figure strongly in a10's chances for second ncaa bid. I'd be disappointed if only the tourney winner gets in

Gotta think LSU starts to drop quite a bit, no business being 4 seed currently
Yep, last night's loss, at full strength, at home, and to a bad Ole Miss team missing their PG for a large part is going to cost them a line or two.

Good losses are excusable, but that kind of loss at home has to cost you, not to mention they've now lost 5 of their last 6, regardless of whether they are good or bad losses. At some point, you have to win games, especially in conference play.

Providence is 29th in the NET. That’s what OK State ranked last year heading into the tournament and they got a 4 seed. I wouldn’t be surprised if Providence also gets the benefit of being seeded that much higher than their ranking. But I feel like their luck will start running out

Bracketology: Purdue, UCLA basketball push for No 1 seed - Sports Illustrated

What an awful bracket. And a brutal draw for Tennessee. 2nd round matchup against Duke? Arizona in Sweet 16? Top-half of the bracket is weak though. I think Iowa State and Providence are very overrated.

Midwest Region
No. 1 Baylor vs. No. 16 Hawai’i*
No. 8 Indiana vs. No. 9 Loyola Chicago
No. 5 Iowa State vs. No. 12 Florida
No. 4 Providence* vs. No. 13 Vermont*
No. 6 Tennessee vs. No. 11 Iona*
No. 3 Duke vs. No. 14 Wagner*
No. 7 UConn vs. No. 10 Iowa
No. 2 Arizona vs. No. 15 Seattle*

Anyone who has Tennessee as a 6 seed at this point is either dumb or extremely lazy. We’re closer to a 3 seed than a 6 seed. We’re 13th in the net. The only teams that had a net 13th or better who were not at least a 5 seed were mid or low majors.

I am also skeptical that Auburn would go to San Antonio and Baylor to Chicago. And that they will fly the play in winner across the country to Portland (where Gonzaga will be playing) and not Indianapolis which is just a stones throw from Dayton. This guy doesn’t know what he’s doing

SI is a lazy publication, so I don’t actually think they have any idea what they’re talking about anyway.

They still have LSU as a 5-seed after their 5th loss in 6 games. They have Alabama as a 5 as well. Any brackets with those two teams seeded higher than Tennessee is a lazy bracket.

That projected matchup against Pitino will not be easy.

Pitino has always given UT fits at Kentucky and Louisville.

Playing WVU in Pittsburgh? 🤔 That would be something that happens to us

It’s an interesting draw. I feel like the early games are brutal in relation the strength of their seed, but if you make it to the S16/E8 we match up well. I do NOT like the Illinois draw because Kofi would eat our posts for lunch and as you said we’d be playing a de facto road game against WVU in round 1.

Baylor is one of the weaker one seeds so if you avoid Auburn or Gonzaga I’m happy. We’ve beaten Arizona so not too bad either.
