Those two have a terrible track record when it comes to bracketology as I think most computer-based systems do. I like Barttorvik though for seeing relative impact in his team-cast feature
NET is fairly new so not a huge sample size, but for P5 schools do NET rankings tend to follow seeding pretty closely?

Oh this bracket was mine I created using BPI/SOR. Purely statistical. The auto bids are determined using BPI and Saint Louis ranks 55th while Davidson is 56th. That’s also not the best way to determine the auto bids… even if St Louis has a higher predictive rating, they may still be less likely to win their conference tournament based on seeding and the resulting probabilities, but I wasnt going to get into that level of sophistication. Also, I think the BPI is a bit funky this year. Kenpom has them ranked 73rd and 42nd, respectively. But it was easier to pull a predictive rating and sor from the same source. In this case St Louis gets an auto bid due to predictive but Davidson is seeded much higher due to SOR
do you have a must-go-to website?

Well we were 13th in the NET last year heading into selection Sunday and we got a 5 seed. It tends to generally align. Colgate was 9th in the NET and they got a 14 seed. West Virginia was 23rd and got a 3 seed. And then when it came to picking their last 4 they basically ignored the NET altogether

Bracketology at this point is something that at this point is absolutely absurd. Projections now mean nothing. I don’t understand the infatuation.

Bracketology in general is kind of a pointless exercise. But I think it’s just kind of fun to keep an eye on think about potential matchups.

stat ratings
KenPom

Bartorvik has a good free site. BPI is normally very good for ratings and has accurate projections but like I mentioned they’re appear a bit funky to me this season. They also don’t publish advanced team metrics. Haslametrics has a bunch of unique advanced metrics. Can be a bit overload though.

Also I like TeamRankings for their probabilities. They’re the only site unknown of that shows probability curves and conference tournament projections.
blundered my way to site a couple of years go and have been checking it weekly sincee conference play began .

still learning my way around site.

Latest update has us as a 5 seed

Aside from Purdue I think the Big 10 is overrated on here. I don't agree w Illinois and Michigan St being over us. Illinois has losses to Marquette and Cincinnati, and their best win is, Iowa? Michigan St I'd say the quality of our wins is comparable at best, but we don't have a loss like one at home against Northwestern. Same goes for Ohio St.

Also there’s no point to bracketing teams if you aren’t also assigning sites. The committee uses that as a factor in filling the bracket

I don't think so and eff Uwe Blob (I probably butchered the spelling of his name). Didn't the Hoosiers when the NC, 2 years later ?

Correct. And they went to 18 consecutive NCAATs beginning the year after they lost that NIT final to UCLA.

It was actually a really fun NIT final 4 in MSG. TN lost to IN and beat Louisville in the consolation game.

That looks like a possible Final 4 in The Big Dance, especially during that era. Well, minus UT, of course. You never know, if UT doesn't get matched up against Virginia and Ralph Sampson, in consecutive years, a couple of years before '85
