Apparently you don’t watch if you did you would realize his injury came at the end of the GA from a hit by a blitzing corner he did not pick up and as I stated he hasn’t been the same since that injury.
I agree GA adjusted and we did not but how much of that is on the coaching staff and not the player. If you couldn’t see BM potential in that first half maybe it is you who doesn‘t understand football.
Think you misinterpreted what I wrote. I was talking about BM. After I said BM would calm down with reps, I said I would still put HB in there to see if there was some magic. I think the kid, HB, looks and acts more like a QB than any of the others. Only playing time would determine that. He might turn out to be another Iceman.I don’t agree. He seemed to have more composure and game presence than BM and we all know about JG’s lack of confidence. Bailey also looked aggressive in lining up the offense and barking the signals. However the sample size for BM or HB is too small now to know for sure.
Maurer isn't the standard. JG is an ineffective QB no matter what Maurer is or becomes. Maurer isn't the guy with over 30 SEC starts. He hasn't been the center focus for development for the past 4 years. He has never enjoyed any of the advantages JG has gotten much less the INCREDIBLY insane "patience".
You aren't winning points by tearing others down to try to avoid facing the simple facts about your idol.
I see you coordinated for the new excuse.Brian hasn’t exactly been put in any position to succeed this year either. He threw once vs Alabama, already down. His only other action this season has this past weekend. Anyone that expected a great performance in any of the back ups when all the time has been poured in JG is absolutely unreasonable
We have a chance every game
LOL....Which game?
No team with Bm at qb.
Remind us what team is JG going to beat
JG left the game winning. He was winning while in.
Pretty sure it was 13-7 when JG went airborne and got hurt and Ark went down and scored. So you are wrong again
Bm can't produce one score to take take the lead back or get back into the game? If he leads us to the same amount of points JG did then we win.
How many points did your boy put up against Ga when BM got hurt ? 0....The bottom line is your boy sucks and he takes the life out of this offense, if this is what you call a offense. Tell me this since you think JG is so good, what other SEC team would even have him on their roster?
What excuse? Can you read or do you just see the lies you want to see?I see you coordinated for the new excuse.
If you aren't the same guy any way.
I counted 5. Haven't seen anything to make me think Bailey has the ability to turn this thing around, but it sure would be nice if he had a fair opportunity to prove himself in a game. He's going to have to learn to pull the trigger though.Four of those passes, and 40ish yards were just dumps to the RB in prevent
Or Bailey slings it like Tyler Bray under Chaney. That would work also.Bailey is slower and less athletic than any of the QBs on the roster. They will need to tweak the offense quite a bit to take more advantage of his passing ability. Tennessee's running backs are mediocre at best, so the running game will be limited w/Bailey at QB b/c he really doesn't have to be accounted for in the running game. Hopefully, Salter can get up to speed quickly when he gets on campus......
I don't fully understand your point, but somehow think we agree in part. My only point was about Baileys composure. He threw the same underneath route to the running back 4 times in a row. No read necessary since they were in prevent. I know that is what the prevent gave him...and I'm not sure that given the same situation JG would have done the same thing. I think he would have attempted a homerun into heavy coverage.No. There's really no good defense for those throws. He didn't have time to take the check downs. He will have to be coached up on situational awareness.
Bailey is a true Fr. You expect to have to coach him up. You understand he'll make mistakes. You hope his ceiling will be high.I counted 5. My point is that you can't keep taking that throw. With so little time and 11 points down, you have to take some risky, low percentage attempts downfield.I don't fully understand your point, but somehow think we agree in part. Totally agree. My son was a QB in HS and briefly in College. I will say, rarely will a coach tell you to go out and take a chance against that defense...even in that situation. I would have preferred to see passes breaking to the outside to give the receiver a chance to get out of bounds. Maybe Bailey took the easy way out, but my initial point was this...he played calm, which I like, and was decisive. You can coach up the rest...especially if you give him first team reps. A week of that can fix a lot of shortcomings. My point is that you can't keep taking that throw. With so little time and 11 points down, you have to take some risky, low percentage attempts downfield.
It might have been better if Gray had kept getting more depth on those throws and couple a 1st down with clocking the ball. You have to understand that ticking clock.
And if jg throws he will throw more int. than any of the rest. Only reason his completion % is good, is because he checks down and throws the safe pass. Open up the offense and people will see why Chaney is hand cuffed with jg at qb. Pruitt even knows this, thats why he game planned the way he did against Ark. And anyone that thinks this is Chaney have not seen Chaney's past successes. Chaney likes to throw the ball. He wall also hand cuffed at Ga. Kirby and Pruitt have the same offensive mind.
Yeah. I think a year and a half ago they could have invested in Maurer, coached him up, and had a good QB. I understand why... but Pruitt's decision to invest in JG failed and is costing the Vols big time.Totally agree. My son was a QB in HS and briefly in College. I have said before that the failure to develop, recruit, or transfer in a serviceable QB by year three is coaching malfeasance. At this point I've seen no ability to salvage next year enough to save his job. I hope I'm wrong, but Pruitt doesn't seem to have any urgency, and in-fact seems to have the same "smartest-guy-in-the-room" mentality of our previous coach.Yeah. I think a year and a half ago they could have invested in Maurer, coached him up, and had a good QB. I understand why... but Pruitt's decision to invest in JG failed and is costing the Vols big time.
Right now, I think the choice has to be investment in Bailey. Play him. Let him make his mistakes. Coach him up. And get the Vols ready for a run next year that might save Pruitt's job. IMHO, if Pruitt goes back to JG then starts from scratch next year or worse yet plays JG again... UT will be in a coaching search by the end of the '21 season.
That doesn’t make sense. He basically committed to Pruitt there being no OC at the time. And Chaney had to put some effort in retaining his commitment...because it was there to be lost. This is UGA fan fiction that desperate Vol fans are lapping up.Listening to local media, I keep hearing people say that Pruitt didn't want Bailey and only took him to honor the commitment. Saying Pruitt is putting all his chips on Salter, assuming he doesn't decommit.
That’s dangerous “Pulaski level” hypocrisy there KTown. You given yourself a reputation of creating excuses for JG, been called out, challenged and proven wrong. You’ve disappeared and checked out of conversations numerous times. So you of all people should be very careful of accusing someone of “making excuses”. It’s hypocritical. But there’s a difference between you and I. Brian played like chit and I’m right here. I’m not making excuses when I say I think it’s obvious that there is a REAL problem with Pruitt. I’ve been telling everyone this for two years now . But I feel it’s become clear to everyone that’s true and it only gets worse with the qb situation. If Brian played like that after being prepared to play then I’d eat my crow willingly. However since the big issue is NONE of the qbs are getting time invested in them I think it’s fair to point out that qb is NOT a plug and play position based on talent alone. Find me a link to ANY qb that’s ever said “I can perform WITHOUT practice” and I’ll let you bask in your own glory.I see you coordinated for the new excuse.
If you aren't the same guy any way.
lmao
The one meaningful pass JG threw LAST YEAR vs UGA was complete. BM had one good quarter vs an ok UGA d when he was only 50%. They sold out vs the run and he got lucky. Then got shut down.
JG had a perfect HALF vs a better UGA D and had the lead at the half. The line broke down second half. The d didn't adjust and shut him down like after the first quarter vs BM LAST YEAR.
If he left the game and we were up 13-7 we were winning. That is how points work.
Bailey led the team last night in passing with 69 yards.
Just thought this should have a spotlight shown on it.
This is both damn scary and hilarious at the same time.
