Average SEC win margin was over 30 points

We lost by almost that much. We were the only SEC team to lose. Is this improvement?

You pose a question that makes no sense in relation to the other statements you made.

It is like a childish passive aggressive approach to looking at the loss.

Other than Bama, Auburn, and LSU no one else played a competent opponent.

As a one game stand alone event, it isnt improvement. Our hope is the quality of opponent, new scheme, lack of developed talent, and HC learning OTJ made that opener worse than what things actually are. Time will tell.

Are you saying it would be improvement if we played UT Martin, E. Illinois, Cent. Michigan, Coastal Carolina, MTSU, Charleston Southern, Austin Peay, Northwestern State or Stephen F. Austin? There were 3 or 4 SEC teams that played tough teams and we were the only ones to be heavy underdogs. Do people lay awake at nights thinking of how to make bad things look worse?

You're right, we should fire Jeremy Pruitt. He's the first UT head coach to open against a ranked team. He's also a first-time head coach.

It's funny to think how everyone acting like the season is over would have been proclaiming Pruitt as the best coach ever if we had played someone like ETSU and stomped them.

Well no **** most SEC teams this week played Soddy Daisy level opponents. It doesn’t tell us anything.

So we were 55+ points worse than the average SEC team. Let's check this same statistic next week. If we aren't 55 points worse, then it will be a sign of improvement, right?

Was Oregon not ranked in CBJ's 1st year?
Also thought NC State was ranked in one of Dooley's openers. What was that super tall NCSU QB's name?

So, we lost to the # 17 team in the land. Did you take a look at the teams the other SEC teams, besides Auburn (# 6 Wash), BAMA (Louisville), LSU (#8 Miami), and Ole Miss (Tex Tech) were playing? Answer: They were all playing some Cupcake U for practice and an easy first win. Looking at comparable match-ups this past weekend, I don't we did too bad considering the dumpster fire ashes CJP inherited. We fans must remember that it will probably take at least a couple of seasons for him to do a quality rebuild with JUCO and quality high school recruiting. Sooooooo... let's not not start jump ship, drink Mr. Daniels dry, or rob the cartels quite yet. We have the coaches, we have the players, we are getting more players... we just need to give them time to develop.

Now... let's enjoy the season and see how CJP makes adjustments as he learns the head coaching business.

All the sudden West Virginia is valid?
The entire off season is not all the sudden. Will Grier is ranked the #3 QB in the nation. Their WR.s are the #1 group and their o-line rates highly also. Or maybe all the college football analysts are lying.
