Automobilia etc....

Got my seats back from upholstery and installed in the '67. Really happy with how they turned out.

And the windshield is in, and new wheels/tires mounted. Side exhaust cover is only mocked up...

Looks good GWN. Are those aftermarket wheels and if so, why did you decide to not keep it original?

They are...American Racing Torque Thrust Ms. I didn't have the original Rally wheels to begin with, and so much of the rest of the car is not stock that I decided to go with a bigger wheel ("17") in chrome. I think they look sharp on midyear vettes, and they were affordable.

I like that style wheels on vettes

What's the best brand of tire. I'm driving a sedan. Mostly highway driving

That's sort of a tough question. There really aren't a lot of bad options from the bigger tire manufacturers. I've always had good luck with kumho and Yokohama. Michelin, Dunlop, Goodyear, all make great tire. Check out tire rack, as they have plenty of reviews from people with your driving habits, and potentially your car.

go to tirerack.com and look for the type of tire you want (e.g. all season touring). They carry all the good stuff and have extensive reviews from users. Once you pick the category and your tire size you can get to a ranking of tires in that category.

Even if you don't buy from them it's the best tire research site on the net.

Nerd, any word on when the Mazda site will officially start promoting the new Miata? (e.g. pricing, configurator, options, etc.)?

Also, what's your inside info on initial demand, waiting lists, etc.

I'm 90% on board (want to see it and drive it of course).

It's dopey. I doubt we will see the configurator up till the end of this month. The cars are on US soil. I think demand will be high, but it will be difficult to find what you want unless you want a grand touring with all the trimmings.

I may be able to email you a product stat sheet, which would include all of the options and features. I just need to check if doing so would get me fired.

I think it will sell well, but I'm not sure what demand will be. I think folks over 45 will lap it up and buy plenty of the top models. My issue is we need to get sub 45 year old people to buy it. That means keeping a base model on the lot. I have implored my boss to do so, and I think he is.

If you are flexible on color, you should be able to find one in the first 3 months, at sticker price. I hope dealers won't needlessly mark it up.

Thanks. No need to send anything, I can wait.

I won't pay above sticker. I'm probably somewhat flexible on color (half of them). Probably going for Club with or without Brembo package (depends on how it looks live and what's available).

Once they come in let me know. If you guys have what I'm looking for I'm not opposed to coming up there to get it.
