Alright folks, here is a fun showdown!! I present to you the following cars, which have a price range of $22,000-27,000(not including destination fee). This is your own money and you can afford to spend up to $27,000, and it will be your ONLY car. Heres the list:

Mazda Miata Club, soft top($26,905):

Scion FR-S (24,700):

Ford Mustang, V6 premium, manual (26,610):

Chevy Camaro, V6 1Lt, manual ($25,855):

Dodge Challenger, SXT coupe, automatic ($26,495):

Subaru WRX, ($27,010):

VW GTi, ($25,000):

Ford Focus ST ($24,910):

Hyundai Genesis Coupe 2.0T, R-Spec ($27,375):

For me, I think I would do:

1. WRX
2. FR-S
3. Miata
4. Mustang
5. GTi

I understand, but the Challenger has the option, if I'm not mistaken, so why not offer it on your performance sedan?
That's a valid question. But you can't get it on the Chevy SS, or the Ford Taurus SHO. I hate that they don't have a manual transmission, but it just isn't a priority for these manufacturers.

If this didn't have to be my only car then the Miata wins by a mile

The stip that its our ONLY vehicle certainly changes things.

I'll go

1. GTI
2. WRX
3. Mustang (I've had several, learned to live with them)
4. Focus ST
5. Miata (wife can have the 'reasonable' car)
6. FR-S
7. Gen. Coupe

You're right. I have no interest in buying a Manuel when I'm in the market for a car.
Are you buying a sports car? I've had both an auto and manual sports car. I wouldn't buy another one unless it was a manual but your right. Most potienal car buyers aren't looking for that much control over their automobile. It's easier and that's all that people care about for the most part. Add in the fact that more an more people don't have the money to spend on some sports car that serves no purpose other than making you grin like a SOB.
